  1. Blues looking purple on HP L25500

We get it all the time. Some grays get red as well. It's the HP's achilles heel if you ask me. I've spent hours on the phone with their engineers too...they get the same print colors we do, and that color is purple. I've only been able to help it by tweaking the magenta and cyan as noted...
  2. Did I get a bad roll of media? Orajet 3751 RA

I've had no issues printing on 3751RA using the Oracal 3951 profile. But, that's on an L25500 and Flexi, so YMMV.
  3. Opinion of Sign permit and inspectors, whats the limits?

I LOVE the municipalities that require SE drawings for a simple post and panel job. $200 to an engineer to tell me how deep to dig and exactly how much concrete to use + $150 permit fees for a $600 sign.
  4. It pays to advertise banner ad here...

Ha, true. But seriously, it's a cool brush type font that I'd love to have.
  5. It pays to advertise banner ad here...

    What font is that?
  6. Flexi 10 makes huge PDF's

Yep, the Supress Options box was checked for exporting. Unchecked opened another window where you can set PDF's to scale down to letter size, 72 dpi. Now I have normal sized proofs to email. It was driving me nuts finding where to change the PDF output settings. With that supress options...
  7. Flexi 10 makes huge PDF's

    Found the problem.
  8. Adhesion question

Rapid Tac 2 is far better than the original version in 50* temps. It can still be tricky though. For cold weather apps, I prefer to use an air release vinyl and apply dry.
  9. Channel Letter Supplier?...

+1 on Signamerica for an east coast shop. High quality stuff, there are cheaper options for sure, but the quality is nowhere near what they put out.
  10. Good stock photo sites?

Never seen 123rf before, but, like shutterstock, yearly subscriptions are too expensive.
  11. Good stock photo sites?

We are currently in a 1 year subscription to imageclub10. I'm finding it OK at best in regards to photos, but really annoyed at their sales tactics. They have auto billed us and sent additional CD packs we do not want and call here a few times a week telemarketing more crap. I can't stand...
  12. bad, yet stays in business..

I submit this guy....can't believe his doors are still open. http://www.ameriquick.com/ Not only is the website awesome, his designs are stellar. Classic case of words on a substrate are all that's needed for some.
  13. USSC In AC?

I've been tossing around the idea. Did some really cool seminars last year...just not sure I want to drive 7 hours each way to spend a few days in AC again. It is a really small show.
  14. vinyl for cinder block wall- 6 month-1 year warranty?

Mactac makes a wall wrap that takes the paint off when removing it from the block. Lifetime outside is short, but inside, temp controlled, I've seen it last years. Of course, overall roughness of the wall determines lifespan, even indoors. 3M also has good stuff. haven't tried Oracal yet...
  15. Monday Rant

I'm with Jill, this area is full of hacks doing it for less. We just got burned recently because we broke our golden rule...no designs without money. We did tons of design for a client we were trying to get and he took that design and found someone to do it for less and didn't have the...
  16. banner stand rentals what to do? how to do it?

Typical banner stands are so cheap. The cost of renting one for 3 days plus the graphics would be equal to or more than just buying one. Unless you're renting for $10 a day or something, and at that point, why bother?
  17. Admit it, you know you've used it!!!!

Add Cooper Black and you got the Trifecta of hack shop design.
  18. Custom Flags

Northstar Flag does really good work, as does Eder and Valley Forge.
