I have a DC4 and I am happy with what I get. You can do a lot with the spot colors. Not sure what you are trying to print, but you can send the files to Summa or one of the dealers and get them to run a test print. The Oldham Group is on the east coast and a summa dealer. They should be able to...
On my Summa if the pinch roller is not in the what jim calls the sweet spot (a small hole drilled in the rail) I will get an error. Call them on Monday thier tech guys are very good.

Another option would be to try it on one of the Ioline plotters. I have a Super 88 that has 5 pinch rollers that I used for sand blast stencil material and now is a spare. It may work for you and fits your budget. I think I would try and not cut through the material and just leave a couple of...
Mines running right now. Has been good so far. The learning curve was a pain getting the pass overlap right to get rid of the banding but once I got the hang of it the thing runs good. Printing is slow but if you need what these things are good at then the speed does not seem so bad. I have had...
What printer are you thinking of using? And I don't think so on your cutter, if I am right it does not have the optical registration sensor you would need on it. 45 degree blade for most vinyl.

Looks like you are new to this so :Welcome:to signs 101
I have one and it works great for what we do. I would recommend going through one of there dealers like Oldham Group. Having the dealer involved when you get it and making sure its good to go is a big help.

Around here they take a tape measureand find the widest points. They take the two measurements to get the area. They require this box to be specified when you get the permit to add the signage to get you to the limit. But a banner on the back of a cabinet inside the window does not count..

Welcome to signs 101.
There is a lot of info here to get you started. Just start by reading the threads in the areas that interest you to get a feel for what goes on. You can read for days and only get a small taste of the klowledge that is preserved here.

:Welcome:
I have my shop at my house like a few others here. I carry insurance for the business and it runs about $100 a year. Since the shop is on the same piece of land that the house is on you would think home owners would cover it but they don't. I have liability and equipment coverage, would not try...
Mine is a mix of local and online. The Glantz by us has a good selection and service and I shop them when ever I can. Some of the stuff we use they don't carry so that comes from the other suppliers. When dealing online you have to consider the freight and delay in getting it when comparing...
The problem with the cutters you have looked is they will have problems cutting much of anything from an 8 1/2 X 11 sheet. Next, Yes a cutter that can read the registration marks on a sheet will do a contour cut but you still need a program to draw the vector file for the cutter to follow. The...
The machine does not like dirty vinyl. I buy alot of my material straight from Summa and the prices are competitive. I have printed on several other types of media and Oracal 651 works good but you have to clean it before you run it through the printer. If your supplier handles FDC products FDC...
