What would be the option for new rip for the Roland CJ 500 and FJ 42?
I see Onyx Poster shop will run both of these older printers. Is there any others out there that will work?
If I want profiles made for these units, is this the only way to go?
My question is on the CJ 500 and the FJ 42. Should they print the same quality and color if you print with the same settings and inks on both? If so I will take the Roland inks out of the CJ and put into the FJ and try.
What I am trying out now is the Lyson cave paint pigment inks on the FJ...
I have colorchoice 4.5v2, a CJ 500 and now a FJ 42. I was wondering if you could run both off of colorchoice. I think I read that the colorchoice 2 let you do this but its not available from what I read.
If not I would look into a laptop to run the 2nd printer and then be able to run both...
Has anyone tried the Durafos Aqueous inks for the FJ and CJ series?
They are listing at $99 per liter on ebay. I have not found too many places that sell bulk Aqueous inks. Biggest question would be, are they as good or close to the Rolands OEM?

This is mainly to tell what I have done to get my printer going.
The cj500 arrived with the print heads not being locked so the heads were uncapped and dry and the capping station was dry. I put what was left for ink in ( pigment waterbased ) and let it start up. Only one head had ink pumped...
Hi all.
Now that I actually have my CJ 500 I can tell all a bit about what I plan to do with it. Mainly I build table hockey games and needed a printer to print the vinyl ice sheets that go onto the games. A used unit came up and I could not resist. Second I also do picture framing so the...
Hi,
I am going to be getting a used cj 500. I am wanting to talk to someone who has used one and ask some questions as to leaving it as is ( pigment ink ) or convert to eco sol ink by installing a heating kit.
I build table hockey games and originally just wanted to print my own vinyl surfaces...
