  1. CET owners, past and present

ChrisN , thanks for all the info, very useful. Was tweaking the voltage something you were shown how to do during the training that happened at the time of installation? Are you using CET inks?
  2. CET owners, past and present

Do you notice any greater clogging issues with the Kyocera over the Ricoh heads?
  3. CET owners, past and present

Seems like the Mosaic ink set was giving people problems, I don't recall what they were, I think maybe adhesion and being too brittle? How do your inks work in the CET machines? Do you have lc, lm? Do you make a lk for any machines?
  4. CET owners, past and present

Do you have the Vanguard Kyocera machine? What CET Q5 do you have? What makes the Vanguard more polished? Vanguard inks work well in the CET?
  5. CET owners, past and present

"PS: You may find they invented a joint company with o2i in France" JWEI, who exactly are you speaking of? Chris, I have test files being made on the Flora, nothing has been ruled out yet, but of course that is not what I was asking about in this thread ;) Thanks though.
  6. CET owners, past and present

Not dismissing them at all, that would be hard to do considering the enthusiasm people have for them on this forum! My conversations with Jim have been great so far and they remain an option. But they don't have a 5x10' bed in my budget, and so I am looking at whats out there, including other...
  7. CET owners, past and present

We are in the market for a new flatbed and one of the choices are the CET machines. Yes, I am aware of Vanguard, they are also a consideration but this conversations is about CET. I would love to hear from people who have used either of the K2 or Q5 flatbed printers especially concerning...
  8. CET Flatbed gloss banding issues

Tom, if I can ask a couple of questions. What prompted you to move from the CET Ricoh machine to the CET Kyocera machine? Apart from the gloss banding, are you happy with the printer? With either printer do you know if the gloss banding would be apparent if you printed on clear acrylic and...
  9. Humidifier?

I tried a cool mist humidifier a few years ago, it left a white residue on the surface of everything. This seems to be using a similar process (no wick, you can see the vapor) do you have any problems with it leaving residue?
  10. Surecolor P10000, 20000

The piezo print heads of the Epson are preferable over the thermal printheads of HP and Canon for my industry. Unless there have been significant improvements in thermal technology in the last 5 years I am not aware of. So back to the original question . . .
  11. Surecolor P10000, 20000

Love to hear anyone with either of these weigh in on their purchase. I am looking to upgrade from my 9880 and in addition to the significant speed improvement I am hoping to see that the newest generation has improved on clogging and cleaning issues. As it is right now, especially in cold...
  12. What to Buy? What to Buy? Need advice and wisdom!

Fangman, what is the smallest picoliter drop size on the VR5D? At MAX quality, with white, how much time does it take to print a 4x8 board?
  13. Grayscale only flatbed (K, LK, LLK + W)

I am going to guess the answer is no but has anyone set up a flatbed with custom black-only inks for the purpose of high definition grayscale printing? There is an equivalent in the inkjet world (http://www.piezography.com/PiezoPress ). Thx
  14. Profiling Acrylic Prints

Thanks for the opinions all, helps me weigh the options.
  15. Profiling Acrylic Prints

I do lenticular printing, acrylic was just my entry into a conversation since most people aren't familiar with the process and they both share similarities. All of my lenticular work has involved facemounting prints on polyester film to lenticular plastics, some quite large, which as you know is...
  16. Profiling Acrylic Prints

Are you using only the profiles that came with the printer then? My immediate concern is getting neutral grays for a project I am looking at. Strange to hear the LED lamps are causing your acrylic to bow. . . I thought that was only a problem with the older style lamps. Is this a common problem?
  17. Profiling Acrylic Prints

How difficult is it to create a HQ profile on a flatbed device meant for acrylic printing? Advice on hardware? I have done a little profiling using a DTP41 some years back, but am certainly not an expert. Most of it seems pretty automated, feeding strips, etc. Perhaps a little different...
  18. JFX200 Ink Chips

There was a thread where people were complaining about expiration dates less than 6 months from inks they just bought. Maybe its not an issue, just curious what the options are.
  19. Color Profiling - Detroit

Curious to see if any members of the forum that offer color profiling services are near Detroit. Reply or PM me.
  20. JFX200 Ink Chips

Looking at the JFX200 but hearing stories about short shelf life for OEM inks (chipped inks only operate for 1 year) I am wondering if anyone is using a chip resetter for this printer or running 3rd party inks?
