Thanks for the replies. No white ink here, roland xj540. For those who tried cut vinyl on static cling, was it cheap calendared vinyl, high performance calendared or cast? Think cast would not shrink? Going to explain the drawbacks to the customer and suggest coro or foamboard signs to hang...
Have a customer wanting clear static clings to advertise sales on there storefront windows. They want to be able to take them down and re use them. I don't think prints on clear material look good at all in windows and shy away from it. But I thought it might work if we overlaid opaque cut...
It's all text nothing fancy. Business name centered and smaller tagline underneath. The tagline is to be black though. I think it would look best etched and painted black. Business name is to be lit up green. Also the size may be 5'x2' instead of 5'x3' still working that out.
Looking for someone to make an edge lit acrylic sign, or at least make the etched acrylic part for us. The sign will be 5'x3' and wall mounted. If any members are interested pm me, or if anyone has a vendor they could recommend that would be great.
Yes that's an option and what we did last year. Just seems an adhesive backed paper would be cheaper, but I am finding too that it is not. The roland stuff breaks down to $0.46 s/f from their website. That's ridiculos.
Looking for a cheap "sticker" paper that can be printed on a roland soljet with eco sol max ink. Just like those cheap paper like kids stickers. Need it for a customer for cardboard box labels. I've never run across this material in any of my catalogs, does it exist for a vinyl printer?
Looking at getting into fabricating water trough or fountain signs. Where you have an acrylic face that water flows over. Has a trough on the bottom and a circulating pump to pump water to the top and flow over the sign. I have looked into them a bit and have some questions on the best way to...
An hour after we installed a backlit sign face the customer calls and says the phone number is wrong!:banghead:
It was the number that was on the proof which he signed off on. He doesn't dispute this and owned up to the mistake.
Is there a good way to fix this without re-doing the whole...
Ok so the internal lighting should overpower any light shinning on the face at night, that makes sense. I will advise my customer that a glossy face may produce some glare during daylight hours and that a matte finish is what I recommend.
Thanks for your help.
Yes we do digitally printed backlit signs like this:
reverse printed clear on backside of white polycarbonate.
single strike printed on translucent on front side.
But we always laminate the translucent print with a matte laminate. We do this becasue translucent material is a matte finish...
Have a customer requesting backlit panels but wants a gloss finish. We always use either translucent cut vinyl which has more of a luster finish and for digitally printed backlit signs we laminate with matte laminate. Would a gloss finish not work well for a backlit? Seems like lights would...
