  1. Encapsulated posters

From what I've been researching yes they are normally heat laminated. However, without having done this before, I don't see why they would need to be heat laminated, other than saving on labor time? That's how we planned on doing it. print, trim to size, laminate on a sled, flip over...
  2. Encapsulated posters

Working on a quote for 100 3'x2' encapsulated posters. We've made posters for this customer in the past, always been laminated one side or not laminated at all. We print on postermax with a roland xj540. Normally we laminate the poster with oracal 210. They want these posters encapsulated...
  3. Thoughts on these layouts

I have a meeting with the customer tomorrow. I'll show him the layouts with LLC taken out and see if he notices. Then I'll explain to him that we think it's unnecessary and just adds clutter, and see what he thinks. We didn't design the logo and they've had it for quite a while, and have it...
  4. Thoughts on these layouts

Took your input into consideration. How about this for the passenger side?
  5. Thoughts on these layouts

Thanks everyone for your input, kinda expected the layouts to get a lot more thumbs down. Maybe, just maybe we won't have to send this out for design... If we went with the bottom layout from the first post (big pictures) for the driver side, would you see anything wrong with using a layout...
  6. Thoughts on these layouts

Trying my hand at a trailer wrap before we kick it to a designer. Custmoer had photos taken of some of their work and want them used in the layout. I'm not crazy for photos but these ones are pretty nice and high resolution. Looking for some critique on these layouts.
  7. Any Plans?

just finished up, cut it pretty close, she gets out of work at 6.
  8. Any Plans?

Made this rose out of stainless steel. Took about 30 hours, and still have to weld on 4 little leaves right under the rose. Is it sad that the first project I've posted on signs isn't sign related at all?
  9. Sad Day

@ DW. This is what comes to mind when I read your comments. RIP
  10. Ghosting on backlit sign face

@psbc How did you end up with this job. We have a very similar job on hand now, 2 ghosted pan face signs. Trying to determine if we should try cleaning or buffing the faces to get rid of the ghosting. And if we can get rid of the ghosting good enough then we will cover with printed...
  11. temporary sign covering backlit

Thanks. Took about 45 min. to install. Biggest pain for us was putting the vinyl to the banner. Since we already had printed and taped vinyl to overlay on the sign originally, we used that on the banner. Upholstery shop suggested to put the vinyl on after they sewed it becasue they would be...
  12. temporary sign covering backlit

Got the banner bag up today. We left the left side open from half way down with grommets to make it easier to slip on. Stuck a couple 2x4's inside the banner bag to help get it up and over the top. Wasn't a fun job but got it done. Hopping that most of the creases fall out, but overall happy...
  13. temporary sign covering backlit

Couple questions about the banner bag. The upholstery shop who will be sewing the banners together wants the 2 banner faces and and 1 piece that will be the top and sides, so they will be sewing 3 pieces together. They said to add 3/4" for sewing. How tight of a fit do you typically...
  14. temporary sign covering backlit

The sign is being replaced probably in a couple months when they have tenants. Not by us though, we're subbing it out.
  15. temporary sign covering backlit

Thank you Gino and everyone else who posted. This is good advice and im taking it. I'll try to be more clear in the future.
  16. temporary sign covering backlit

This is not a permanent sign. It is temporary.
  17. temporary sign covering backlit

Gino, please don't take this the wrong way. Besides probable insurance and code violations, What flawes does the idea have, and what just won't look good? So you know, I just talked to the customer again and we are going to do the banner bag. But I am still curious as to why the other way...
  18. temporary sign covering backlit

ok i worded that poorley. Everyone who has posted in this thread are the "more expierenced" people I was reffering to. More expierenced then me. And your expierence is invaluable to me through this site. What I meant to say is that I was hoping more experienced people here were going to...
  19. temporary sign covering backlit

The new sign is red background yellow text, full size 10'x5'. We originally were going to vinyl over the whole thing, but the back side of the sign is pretty uneven ground, shrubs, telephone pole, etc., not to mention the wind and cold this week, not really able to get ladders back there to do...
