  1. Upgraded to 5.0. imports suck

Roger that. That seems to have worked on the most recent file I was having issues with. I'll update if I run into it again. My only other qualm thus far is in the output screen, i used to enjoy the ability to flip back and forth between wireframe and color preview with f12 and not launch new...
  2. gray looks pinkish

color management. after doing that, look at what kind of lightbulbs you have. before you fix it... print a sample, note the color against a pantone chart or a vinyl and then go outside in the sun and look at the color again. it'll probably blow your mind. lol
  3. Upgraded to 5.0. imports suck

Every time I try importing or opening a .pdf, and sometimes .ai, or .eps in my newly upgraded omega 5.0, I get an "unknown file type" error. They open fine in other programs. Do I need to check a box that isn't checked somewhere?
  4. Laser printed waterproof labels

to answer your question OP, they were laser printed. Even the bumperstickers that were laminated failed. the material just fell apart and the lamination too the print and some of the material with it when it started to separate.
  5. Show your rides?

    here you go LOL.
  6. Show your rides?

hey that's neat. So if you don't ever use it, you should sell it to me cheap. My wife needs one. :D
  7. Show your rides?

The carbon wrapped WRX is mine, the rest are recent customer projects I was involved in. Two of the cars (green one and the one with lambo doors) are sitting at SEMA right now. Edit: apparently I misunderstood the point of the thread. ignore all the pics but the two of the Dinoc wrx. lol. That...
  8. Laser printed waterproof labels

They did some of this at my old job. Tt works.... okay... but it doesn't hold up very long in outdoor applications. (bumper stickers) They say water RESISTANT for a reason.
  9. Quick and dirty logo. Needs critique

Thanks for that. I know you should design for color and for grayscale, for print and for web, small and large, etc... but I wasn't sure if the 'rules' follow EVERY venue equally. I don't do a lot of actual logo design as part of my day-to-day. Not that I don't want to (especially when I see what...
  10. Quick and dirty logo. Needs critique

the comment about the "everyday business" gives me a question to ask you all. Now, I understand the point of simplicity, legibility, etc. such as the Nike swoosh, or the arches, or "HOME DEPOT" as everyday businesses seen out in public. Since this particular logo will likely only see the front...
  11. Quick and dirty logo. Needs critique

You folks are usually cutthroat, so give me a quick critique. It's a friend's little shop that sells and makes those aerial drones with the cameras on them for realty ad videos, aerial recon, or spying in the neighbors windows... I spent about 10 minutes on it and it was the "first try" so I...
  12. I need a little moral support........

lol @ choco labs. reminds me of my aunt/uncle's dogs. they have 2 labs. never will i have chocolate labs. one of them constantly licks. and i don't just mean when you are near it. i mean it walks around literally licking the air. (quite comical actually) and the other one chews stuff and air...
  13. 5 Steps to Guaranteed Sales... Really?

^this. IF there is enough general demand for what you are offering. If you are selling a product that people aren't REALLY looking for... then you have to get them to buy it. I don't understand small boutique businesses/local gift shops/etc. I want to know what their gross daily average in...
  14. just got my first Cricut startup visit

well when i was young (and i'm only 28 now) I didn't have a cricut. I'd get scraps, take a piece of paper and doodle what i wanted, then use a number 10 knife blade to cut through the paper and the vinyl to produce my stuff. took me about 4 hours one night to make a cool looking dragon and skull...
  15. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong?

one more thing to consider when doing significant concave areas if you are stretching... make sure you get all the air out and you get good adhesive wet out. also... do NOT puncture the vinyl in the area (to get rid of a bubble perhaps) There is a level of "suction" if you will that if...
  16. Custom Die-Cut Refridgerator Magnets

    edge print them.
  17. Maybe if ya PROOFED it ...

    BAHhaha
  18. Aventador wrapped in hundred dollar bills?

my thoughts exactly... or at that car's price point, airbrushed.
  19. Aventador wrapped in hundred dollar bills?

lol. well that went viral in a hurry. 41k view in a day on reddit. then picked up on Dupont Registry's facebook page and in 18 hours it got 17,000 likes and was shared on 4,800 different FB pages off that page alone. I wish i have 5 cents for each person that has seen this damn image. i'd retire.
  20. Logo Vectorising

I find it odd that you all have gone so far in the sign industry and aren't fluent enough in Photoshop to damn near mirror that image from scratch.
