  1. In need of a designer

correcto. As long as you can communicate and send files, you can be anywhere. I do stuff for my neighbor, and for a company 2200 miles away.
  2. wrap gone really wrong

also. if you want matte black, you're better off wrapping. a decent matte paint job is spendy and a pain to take care of.
  3. Help needed on vinyl printing

another option for the inkjet would be full page label stock. not good for long term, but for this project, sure.
  4. wrap gone really wrong

so what's the verdict? was it paint or plastidip? It makes a huge amount of sense to do that if they used plastidip. I just did the same thing to my car when i carbon wrapped it, but i used PD, not spray paint.
  5. wrap gone really wrong

i didn't read too far into it for details, but if that's plasti-dip, then there's nothing to worry about and you all got trolled. if it's actually spray paint. then shame on them.
  6. Matt grey

going for the rattle can primer look? i say 3M.
  7. Chrome?

I guess i'm still a supporter of chrome. We don't have these problems with it. we pay for the premium stuff not the metalized stuff, and all of it gets laminated, so maybe that why it hasn't failed us.
  8. Copy right or trademark logos illegal

    WCsign pretty much said it.
  9. Copy right or trademark logos illegal

the only way i can see that holding water is if there was an identical product available for purchase from the parent company. im just saying, i was told by the licensing department (who should know more than anyone) and a patent lawyer (who cost me $400 in an informational consultation) that if...
  10. Copy right or trademark logos illegal

There doesn't have to be any mark at all to signify if it's protected or not, or if its a legal reproduction or not. and just cause you ask, doesn't mean they'll let you. companies dont just give permission to everyone, even IF the inquiring business offers to pay the royalties. I tried to...
  11. Copy right or trademark logos illegal

from my understanding, in that situation, you CAN do it. and if you called disney and asked they'd say go right ahead. fair use. it's when you sell it that it becomes an issue.
  12. Copy right or trademark logos illegal

then you have the companies that get busted on a regular basis but just keep doing it. i know of a decent sized shirt company that screens thousands of unlicensed items. the fuzz comes in, takes all the computers, files, slashes the screens in the whole warehouse, confiscates the shirts deals...
  13. Copy right or trademark logos illegal

That's false. I've heard it straight from a 30 year patent lawyer, and from chrysler's licensing department. And regarding the whistle blower on the ebay decal seller. wow that's a dick move and a waste of your time. #1 whether they sell legally or illegally, it has no effect on you and there...
  14. Copy right or trademark logos illegal

    that's a separate issue.
  15. Copy right or trademark logos illegal

ok... customer: "hey can you make me this harley decal?" shop: "not casue you don't have permission so i cant sell you one, BUT you can buy this 3" generic decal for twice the worth and i can give you this harley decal for free" ^immoral for copyright law purists... yes legal? technically...
  16. Chrome?

i dont disagree that metalized polyester or pvc will soon fail... i hate that crap and also try my hardest to avoid it, but a VINYL based chrome will do far better than you make it sound. I use it almost every day. in 1988... i was likely crapping my pants.
  17. Chrome?

how are some of you still in business? http://www.shopgms.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=CCHB1510S you should at least be familiar with available products. This is 7 year vinyl not pvc or polyester. it says laminate it, which i agree with... but from my experience with 210 deluxe...
  18. Gerber Edge Price

At work we have 2 mimaki jv3s. a 60" and a 30". We also have 2 gerber edge printers. the mimakis run on average about a half hour per day. the gerbers run about 6-7 hours per day. if you dont have a market that will support it, dont buy it, simple as that. if you DO... they may as well print money.
  19. vinyl removal easy as pie...yeah right!

it's possible it was removable vinyl as well.
  20. Looking for reviews of low end heat presses

I'd love a used good one that's working well. Finding one for sale is proving difficult though. I have experience with George Knights and love them... but they are spendy.
