  1. How many of you do work for Fire and Emergency?

Ive been a Volunteer FF and EMT since 1993. Certified in PA, FL , and GA So with that, I managed to secure the Sheriff cars in 2 counties and the FD in one for all their vinyl ( dont charge the sheriffs though ;) never know when I need to get myself, wife or friend out of a ticket ;) )
  2. How many cleanings during a 3'x5' print...VP540?

Its the computer. the print loads into both the printer and the computers memory, if you dont have a fast enough computer with good RAM, it will pause. We had an old athlon64 with 2GB ram at first, but upgraded to a PhenomII X4 with 12GB and it runs without delay now. If you cant upgrade your...
  3. Can I print on inkjet vinyl with my photo printer?

careful with the krylon though. I have found a few pigment based inks that dont respond well to the clear ( it would yellowed the clear ,caused ink to flake off, or did a nasty orange peel ) Test first.
  4. 53' trailer Wrap Pricing

I wouldnt go less then 12k. We did a 24' toy hauler for 5k, only 3 sides, and the company was estatic.
  5. Looking for some critiques on some Vehicle wrap design

They look good, Im not fond of the middle one, the white sideways drips.... I dunno, anything in the design that seems to rely on being level with body lines...ie if it slants its noticable, always throws off a project if its not perfectly applied. Overall they look great
  6. Stripe issues new to printer

Have you thought about creating your own profiles. While the generic ones work fine, I personally created new ones for each type of material I use, not just the "Generic Vinyl 1" type profiles that are stock. took some experimenting, but after a couple weekends, I had profiles for whatever I...
  7. When calculating SQ FT....

Dont forget to add the price for electric ( .0025 sqft ), Ink ( .17sqft ) AND misc machine upkeep ( I add .10sqft to cover blades, cleaning solution, etc ) So figure that along with your basic material.
  8. When calculating SQ FT....

I base it off of the width of the material, including waste......like the material between cut lines, a 3" sticker, with 1/8 space between = approx 16 per row on a 54" printer at 32 rows of 16 = 54" x 102" approx of material = approx 38.25sqft rounded up, so 39sqft
  9. "Glasses Free" 3D Technology

Im guessing out of safety...lol Like taking a daily driver, it does more harm to just slam on the gas from a dead stop, so one accelerates slowly, so i guess its designed to ease the flutter up to the 24 fps each eye just reach to achieve the effect.
  10. "Glasses Free" 3D Technology

ouch.... I can only handle playing COD BO in 3d for an hour before I get loopy, WITH glasses, thats just nutz

According to the new Commandant, there are no longer Former Marines..... were just Marines!! Semper Fi 6521/6174 Try creating the image in photoshop, then opening and converting the image in corel to an eps. then printing the eps with rasterlink? Never having used rasterlink, I cant assist...
  12. Stripe issues new to printer

The problem I had that was identical was printing from Flexi. While it works, for whatever reason Flexi ALWAYS banded, so, I only use it now for non print vinyl work AND I found that it still happened if I saved the .eps or image with flexi...even if it was created elsewhere. I dont know, it...
  13. Roland SP-540V problem

unplug, disconnect, restart and reload. I had that happen once or twice. I just unplugged everything from each other, restarted ,then re hooked everything up. All I can figure was a computer glitch.

  16. Seeking suggestions on print shop renovations

CES020 is getting close to a workable solution without slamming the guy for asking for advice... With a 12' overhead, its possible to set up a room of 1200sq feet to run a majority of the items, building a loft area to store materials. One COULD build a separate room with 7 foot clearance to...
  17. Roland SP-540V

Its not just color settings in versacamm, its what programs you used in the image / .eps / .pdf construction. If I used Flexi, to load image and place contour lines, then used flexi to export as .eps. for whatever reason the original image quality ALWAYS printed like crap, and gave the green...
