  1. Vinyl Cutting Program what works well?

CoCut is a good program that i've used for years.
  2. Signvox?

Hey Mike, would love to hear more about what you'd like to see in GraphixCALC...seeing as how you've been a long-time user. I'm always open for suggestions. I don't want to hijack this thread, so shoot me a PM or email if you feel like it. Thanks!
  3. Signvox?

I found their site several months ago. Seems like they've actually dummed down the site some from what I can recall seeing before. I perused the SignVox site gain and find it to have some interesting features, but they should seem guarded when it comes to pricing. They could certainly do...
  4. Job tracking and history

I am also interested to see how this plays out. FMP is merely a database application, though is a powerful product. You still have to create and customize a database to suit your application, even if you find a template to start with. I am not trying to downplay it at all, but I guess I am...
  5. Job tracking and history

This should be a multi-faceted approach. For one, organize your client files in some logical manner. We used a system similar to what MikePro indicated. We had a single folder called "Projects" and then under that we created a folder for every company/client. Within each client folder we...
  6. Great Tool For cutting backing paper.

A letter opener, been around for many years. I see a lot of 'em as giveaways. I prefer the one the OP showed, but to each his/her own!
  7. Help with pricing

Nicely done Fred. Thanks for keeping the riff-raff to a minimum (present company excepted, of course).
  8. JuiceDrops Collection

I sold about that many last year for somewhere around $500 if memory serves.
  9. System/Software for graphics industry

You might want to take a look at GraphixCALC too. When coupled with QuickBooks, you've got a very complete package to price your jobs AND organize your business financially. You are welcome to kick the tires on it for 15-days, free of charge, no strings attached and I promise...NO HARD SELL.
  10. Propane heat?

Can't comment on that exact setup, but in my home shop I have a propane Reznor heater heating a 1280 SF shop with 13' ceilings. I don't run it very often now, but when we had the business in there it worked okay and was fairly economical. I don't recall exact costs, but wasn't too bad.
  11. Hello from Spokane

Hello from the wet side of the state. I'm originally from Wenatchee (left there in 1996), so am really a "509'r" at heart.
  12. Ideas for new tools.

I tried contacting this outfit quite a while ago and never could get anyone...are you sure they are still around?
  13. Let me have it....

I dunno...I think the "Signs & Graphics" might need to be in Small Caps or something to give it a bit more flow. Maybe bring the "1972" to the left and down just a touch...a little more left than down. To me, the "Est." and "1972" are a bit too dark. Other than that, I dig it man!
  14. Inspiration to make quality signs

Excellent Jill. I gotta say, I was in the same boat as the OP with the same frustrations when we had our sign business. Most everyone local to us produced the same boring crap. We tried hard to do really nice stuff when given the chance, but it seemed that so many only cared about the bottom...
  15. Let me have it....

A plainish font for "Signs & Graphics", as has been mentioned.
  16. Alumalite vs. Alupanel

Alupanel, Dibond, PolyMetal are all names for essentially the same thing, though each mfg is different and each has shorter/longer warranty. I think Dibond is longest and typically costs more than some of the "knockoffs". We got away from the Alumalite for the same reasons mentioned, but it is...
  17. Something never tried...

I used Corel's capture and it does a pretty good job overall. After having used SnagIt though, I'm a big fan. Have been using it for quite a while now.
  18. Need a UPS, not sure where to ask

True to oversize a bit, but understand that most electronic equipment is not usually drawing the max Watts as typically rated by the power supply. Although that percent of the whole can vary quite a bit, I'd hazard to say that during typical use, a PC is likely drawing 1/3 to 1/2 of what the...
  19. Little Giant ladders $169.00

I bought a couple of knock-offs from Costco, been a few years, but they were only $99 each. They are not cheaply made either, quite heavy duty. Mine are "Werner" brand and I think they are the MT-17 model. They're still not much over $100 at many places.
  20. looking for a discontinued avery vinyl

    EEEEWWWWWWW...anything but AVERY!!!
