  2. Looking for Print Company that offers Square folded Brochures

Yes, I've done it before. Square anyway, maybe not that size specifically. I set the file up so they were 2-Up on the same 18" or so inch paper. When they arrived 2-Up and folded on the same sheet, I took them to the paper cutter and separated them. Client got twice as much for their money.
  3. LED lights in channel letters

What do you need in an LED module? 5050 SMD Chips? UL Listed? IP68 water resistance rating? Those are practically a dime a dozen now. Seriously, you gotta shop around.
  4. Snark-Free Response Forum

And this is the inner-webs anyway... are you seriously expecting decorum from faceless avatars posting in a chat room or forum? Really? And you can say, that people hide behind their keyboards and would never speak in such a manner to you in person. Well, not sign guys... I expect everyone of...
  5. Snark-Free Response Forum

Boo Hoo! Must suck to work in your office. Can't joke or jibe with your co-workers. Boring. Here's something you may not understand about sign painters, sign makers in general. They are basically renegades of the art and display industry. The fact that you are wanting to thrive in a corporate...
  6. Hp l360

I realize that HP is a world conglomerate. Which is what makes their ink gouging that much more ridiculous. They source and scour the planet for the cheapest labor, lowest bidder and have incompetent engineers. All of their best engineers came on board with the companies they absorbed, then...
  7. Hp l360

I feel bad for Kyle at HP. Was he the only one who spoke english as a first language? (Thanks for the subtitles) :ROFLMAO:

  9. 58" x 69" windows customer saw seam and said he doesn't want any seams!

Correct. I feel that 64" should be the very minimum width sign shops should have. It's actually considered "Medium Format" (24" – 64") and 72" and wider is "Wide Format". And 100" and larger is called "Grand Format" (At least this is how they were designated in the early days of when wide format...
  10. Vinyl Shrinking

YAY SHRINKAGE! I just love removing this kind of "Hack Vinyl Job" It's like permanent glue etched into the paint.
  11. Direct to coro prints scratch easily (Dark colors not bonding)

There are a lot of variables when it comes to UV ink and adhering to any kind of plastics. Some of the larger, more production oriented flatbeds are actually the worst offenders. As many offer their own suggested ink formulations. But here's the rub... (haha) Some of those formulations are so...

    Avery doesn't count.
  13. LED lights in channel letters

How many LEDs on are said "roll"? 100? At the very least you are paying twice as much as you should. And the real large channel letter shops get 100 LEDs for a tenth of price still.
  14. help understanding how to price projects

You could just take your cost per decal and apply the 2.5 - 3.3 multiplier to it, and just run with it. That gives you a range between $7.40 – $9.77 a set. You can apply those prices based on artwork complexity or speciality foils used. At that rate you only need 5 to 6 clients per month. More...
  15. Black ink spreading into other ink (Check out the NZL Check) Mutoh 1204

The little filter screen thing in your capping station has swollen up and is touching the bottom of your print head, thus wicking away ink and the dampers are pulling the cross-mojinated ink into them.
  16. To Laminate or not-window perf continued

You know what you get in desert communities were you don't laminate your window perf? Etched Privacy Glass! :ROFLMAO:
  17. To Laminate or not-window perf continued

You can at the very least frog juice window perf. That does actually help keep the abrasion scratches down, and about the same fade resistance as lamination. I'd be real curious to see a perf panel pulled off after a year and placed next to a fresh print to see if there really isn't any fading...
