I have had the same problem. same printer and material. I know you don't like to waste material but try to allow enough leader to attach to the take up to start with. if that doesn't work and all else fails, order the banner from 365. with there pricing I find it hard to justify printing them...

I believe it's just the nature of the beast. I've often received large prints in the state you are referring too but once you release from the backing paper the prints are just fine

I recently did a run of 4" circle white clings. they had a heavy .5 "red & black border with a white center. these were to go on the inside of the windshield. the white center stuck just fine but the printed border would not stick
