I see lots of good deals on my local FB marketplace. Might find something decent for starting out. There’s a graphtech 24” for $850 local to me. I know this isn’t the best plotter but for starting out he could go with a uscutter MH or SC series cutter.
I have been thinking about buying a k40 to play around with. they have a huge following and with a few mods can actually be pretty decent for what your looking to do. I doubt it would hold up in a high volume production environment.
I agree they will get the job done, the cheap models have stepper motors so they are much louder, but will work. I started out years ago with a cheap Stepper motor plotter and it made me tons of $$.
Sorry for the bump just wondering whatever happened to this project. Was it a success? I came across a bannerjet the other day and it made me think of this conversion thread.
What kind of app tape are you using? I only find myself messing up sometimes when I use the clear app tape and that's due to the static, but when using paper app tape I never mess it up maybe an occasional wrinkle in the tape but it never affects the decal.
I just downloaded the trial the other day, haven't really had much time to mess with the programs yet. I was thinking of buying them just to have on hand
well i finally figured my problem out. I had to download a trial of office 365 and that somehow installed the correct VBA file and everything is working again.
I mean apple does it to the older model phones to "save battery life" so It wouldn't surprise me. I've been having corel issues for a few months myself. I cant get my macros to work even after doing a complete reinstall. I get a VBA error. Im running x7 tho.
