But if the owner is physically doing the work then it should be done properly or hire someone who can. If the CEO of Caterpillar hops in an excavator s/he better have some training and know what s/he's doing.
It varies, usually the low 40's and sometimes up to 70 (highest I've seen). I've never changed the threshold amount, just left it at default. Maybe it was higher before, 45 or 50, and got reset.
I'll check that out, thanks.
Recently updated the firmware on our 360 to version NEXUS_01_16_00.7 and ever since then we've been having trouble with skew when loading material. 80+% of the time when we change material it says it has XX mils of skew (not usually the same) and even after we try to readjust (pull up the blue...
Have you checked the communication settings on the plotter, maybe somebody else messed with them? Make sure SCC and the plotter both show the same port settings?
I use 3M golds with a Monkey Strip. I think the slight flexibility of the gold cards is beneficial over the completely rigid white teflon cards. If you do need a, I guess sharper?, edge than the buffer, then just flip it over. And you don't have to worry about it scratching the hell out of...
It takes A LOT of heat to break tempered glass. Like strypguy said, in tint shops we use heatguns (some people even use torches) to conform the film to the back window and it can get hot enough to boil a bit of water off instantly when sprayed. You should be more worried about melting...
It varies from state to state. Here in Utah you can paint all the windows behind the driver black and you wouldn't get in trouble. It's no different than driving a work van without any rear windows, really.
We used a lot of their material (not cheap) they say is specifically manufactured for use in the Summa DC series. You can get good results with 751, but it has to be unpunched edges. If there was some sort of contaminate that left a slight indentation in the film (even just a little spec of...
Honestly I'm not sure what the life expectancy is on the printheads. We had to replace ours because it was damage from material contamination. Which reminds me, make sure it also has the OptiPrint cleaning system (or you get a new one if you purchase). It's a sticky roller that is mounted to...
Also keep in mind that they're pretty expensive to run. You need quality, smooth material or the resin won't transfer properly. Also, the ribbons are expensive. They run $159 to $242 and print 369 square feet at 100% coverage, so you're somewhere around 50 cents per square foot PER COLOR. So...
$1k would be a good deal if it's working properly, they're $20k new (for the DC5, which I don't think has any huge improvements over the DC4) and $3k for a replacement ColorControl dongle, I believe. Does it just come with 1 cassette or a complete set? Keep in mind you'll need a cassette for...
The big name tint manufacturers will only sell directly to tint shops or through select few distributors that only sell to tint shops, and highly discourage resellers. I know Llumar will blacklist you if they find out you're reselling their film.
Home Depot sells a brand called Gila that's...
We use SprayMasters for installing tint and paint protection, they're great. Just keep in mind that they put out a lot of per pump, not ideal for some applications. We get our sprayers from an automotive detail supplier, it's a fine mist and holds up really well to alcohol, adhesive remover, etc.
