  1. Combing Color Layer Elements - X3

I think you just need to sit down and learn how shaping(boolean operations) work (weld, divide, behind front, intersect, etc.). Pretty sure there's a section in the help file of draw for that.
  2. Cleaning cartridges

I think those cleaning cartridges are just for moving the printer, or to completely purge the lines for new inks, or because of a problem. At least that's what I understand.
  3. Combing Color Layer Elements - X3

You should know that Combine and weld are two very different operations, in corel or any other program. What you need to be doing is "weld" from under the "shaping" function. It's a couple tools down from combine. Edit: Combine in Corel is the equivalent of Exclude in any other vector...
  4. Pinch-Grit Rollers Leaving Tracks On 540XC

I noticed this on our 545EX in the beginning. It happened on some media (cheap media), on the orajet it was hardly noticable. Now I don't ever see it.
  5. Versacamm Banner "Banding"

If the white banding is at random intervals, then you're probably looking at material imperfections. When we get to the end of our banner rolls there's always a dark crease on the last six or 8 feet in the width direction. That's from are where the banner meets the roll, and a slimp "hump"...
  6. Adobe VS Corel

If you got a good memory for keyboard shortcuts, go with adobe products.
  7. Print, Laminate Reload, Cut

Added time on a pair of doors? 1 or 2 Hours to dry (heavy coverage prints maybe 5). About 5 minutes to laminate (including setup). So 1 to 2 hours? Cal 210 Laminate : $.30 /sq ft Cast 290 Laminate: $.60 / sq ft
  8. Illustrator tools vanished!

  9. Valuejet

I buy most of the media I can in reverse wound, because the shop is a little on the dusty side. For media I can't find rw I have a pack of static cleaners(from a swifterjet I think) near the print to wipe down the outer layer before loading it. Though that can be a real pain with new(heavy)54"...
  10. Head not firing on Roland 545-EX

Howd you clean the heads? Has it been sitting for a bit without printing?
  11. Prototype Squeegee Opinion Poll

I've only used a level once for a job. That job came out reallly crooked. A squeegee with a a slitter would be nice. But everything else seems kinda excessive and bulky.
  12. Valuejet

I saw some prints from the Valujet at the SGIA(i think that's the name of the convention) here in miami. These prints are fantastic. There were at least 4 valujets being shows by different distributor, not one of them had a bad print. I'm amazed. (I have a 545ex btw)
  13. how to make an outline around letters

Sweet jesus! I've never knew that, and that will simplify sooo much work. I get quite upset looking at the layer palette when I'm working with multi outline things. Thanks very much SAI
  14. Why do Some fonts cut bad

Could be something like you have your plotter set to low quality cuts. What kind of "jagged" edges are you seeing, can you get a picture?
  15. Juicedrops

I got a question, do the volumes come with any physical preview of the files?
  16. VersaWorks Weirdness

    What type of file?
  17. Few questions about SC 545EX

I'm runnng everything through versaworks, cause I can't find any plug and play profiles for flexi sign. Planning on a color proofer in the next 6 months though. As far as file ripping, I'm sticking to jpegs, as the tiffs I was producing were way too big and time consuming. Rip while...
  18. Photoshop/Masking/Vector??!?!

I figured when you referered to the "shapes" you meant a shape layer (which is a layer with vectors in it) Thought you want to still have a shapes layer with editable vectors in it.
  19. Photoshop/Masking/Vector??!?!

You need to convert the selection to a path (under the path tab). Then do a difference (or addition) to the vector path.
  20. VersaWorks contour cutting problem

Tried doing the alignment for print cut, and the evironment match? (assuming the sp-300v have those, I'm not sure =X)
