  1. Need someone to convert file from CC to CS6

Can anyone help? EPS file won't open in cs6. And Flexi ruins it. Client can't figure it out. PM if you can (and are willing) to help out. Thanks !
  2. Installer website

Bam! That's the one. Thank you!
  3. Installer website

Hi All, Someone here posted a site they were developing that showed a map were sign/graphics/wrap installers could sign up and get a pin on the map. It showed the installers location and contact info. I been searching for a few but I cant find the link. If someone remembers the original post...
  4. Install Dimensional Letters on concave surface

Moze, Thanks for your response. If I stick with stud mount, I plan to do exactly what you suggested. But my question is more about more install method. I guess I should edit my original post to be more clear. I'm looking for another possible install method, other than studs, that might make...
  5. Install Dimensional Letters on concave surface

No its not to scale. It just a quick layout to help illustrate the situation.
  6. Install Dimensional Letters on concave surface

I have an install that I'm look for some other opinions on. Here are the basics: Installing some 2' tall letters vertically down the center of a concave concrete pillar. I plan on stud mounting. But I'm thinking there must be a smarter (more efficient) way to get it done. Are there any other...
  7. Professional Rendering/Cad software needed

I do this all the time in FlexiSign. There are some cases where illustrator may a better tools but for 99% of our work Flexi it the way. Plus, no need to duplicate files (Design + Proof vs Production). I just draw everything 100% and use the same drawings for production. Easy.
  8. Service for Royal Sovereign 1401H

Hi All, Any one know of any company that can service/calibrate a Royal Sovereign 1401H laminator? Preferably in Southern California. I had a guy lined up to do the work but he has committed and no showed me 3 times already.
  9. Another Banding thread

Hi All, I have searched around the site but haven't found a solution for my particular situation. This banding only happens in areas of solid color. better said, only VISIBLE in solid colors. So we have been letting it ride for a long time. But its time to get it fixed. Any tips or ideas on...
  10. Wholesale Digital Signage

There are many. And prices vary widely. And most will sell to whomever knocks on their door with the 15k+ that is cost to play... And in my experience you will find that is the sales guy that determine if your price will be at the "wholesale" level (read: low enough for YOU to make some money)...
  11. Perferated reversve print and stick is it possible?

Right... But the image it self has white. So the dots need to be voids. Zero color. Remember that the goal was to print on clear with white inks. So a file with white dots would defeat the purpose. Plus at the size the dots would need to be it would not produce a clean result.
  12. Reverse print on perforated

If you mean inside mount (viewed properly from outside) Check here: http://www.signs101.com/forums/showthread.php?121075-Perferated-reversve-print-and-stick-is-it-possible&p=1213224#post1213224
  13. 3D printing signs

I would have to agree. I'm ALL for integrating newer bleeding edge tech. But one could probably layout, proof, setup, cut, sand, prime, paint, install and invoice a biblical paragraph in the time it takes to print a set of letters using a 3D print method. Unless there is some new happenings...
  14. Importance of kerning?

Years ago this young lady I worked for making ada signs comes and looks over my shoulder one day. She kind of (figuratively) spanked me a bit about the kerning in a layout. I got upset and fired back (like most high and mighty I know more than you type designers do). After she shut me up, she...
  15. I need a slick method of laminating vinyl to aluminum sheet

Hi Chris, Like many have already said, a cold laminator would make short work of this. The way we do here is load the vinyl exactly the way you would normal lam. Liner rolling up on the take up reel and all. Then, just push the sheets through. Make sure the sheets are pretty square to the nip...
  16. Thick Gator Board: How to hang flush?

Hi All, I have been doing a lot of prints mounted to 1/2"+ Gator. Some clients request it with double stick tape. I don't like this just because of the potential for wall damage. And many request them done with a french cleat. That works, but again, there is wall damage when you have to screw...
  17. Versaworks Is Turning White To Light Grey With EPS Images

This may sound silly and obvious but I will ask anyway as this has happened to me before. You mentioned you opened the images in PS but have you checked the image for the actual color vector values in the white? Its worth it to check. Try checking the actual vector file in illustrator or what...
  18. How do I make this look less like clip art.

And Rick, the creative mornings film was excellent. Thank you very much for sharing that.
  19. How do I make this look less like clip art.

Not much to add in regard to layout. Others have a handle on that. But my question is, what part of that sign is getting hung on a raceway? And How?
  20. All I've been doing.... (A sign designers late night rant)

Wow. I feel Like I just read a post from the Twilight Zone. I long to do that type of stuff. With a drive full of typical drawings that the either fit each scenario. Or can be picked apart to work. I would trade you my years of experience laying out yard signs and birthday banners for your ADA /...
