Your test print is missing a Black line - and the Magenta head is dropping out. Shouldn't you be showing us the fact that it's printing perfectly and not missing colors??? :doh:

You can increase the mark size - height. Make the mark darker by adjusting the stroke. Although this may not fix the problem it just makes the mark easier to read.

That ring could be a "stained" ring from when it used to seal perfectly. I don't think that necessarilly goes away when the wipers wipe the head. I still don't think it's your capping station - it's only 5 months old. Especially since you swapped dampers and the problem followed to the other...

With it placed over the capping station you do a hard pull from the back. If you have another set of ears (another person) You have that person put there ears down by the capping station on the front and listen for a air moving. OR if when you do a pull you get lots of air bubbles. Although -if...

What's the purpose on these? Don't the chips safe gaurd you from bad ink cartridges. Helps in letting you know the cartridges are low? OR is this for a bulk ink system?

Using the stage to spell the name is clever but doesn't really work for either. Although between the two I prefer the bottom one. BUT I would follow Maniac advice and start over. A whole new look and direction would be beneficial.

Maybe something like Avery Transit Vinyl - it's rated up to 6 mos. So it's gotta a temporary adhesive - Anything like that would work. It's printable too. I don't know if they have colored stock rolls - it might all be printable.

Is this a recent issue? Is it a new laminator? Maybe you have uneven pressure on your laminator. Is it only on prints off the HP?

If your capping station was just changed out 5 months ago - it is unlikly that it's that. When were the dampers changed? Manifolds don't normally go bad but they can get clogged and dried out which will stop any ink from flowing. The hard suction you do on the tubes by the pump basically fills...

And I 100% agree with you - if its on a vehicle it's going to be quality vinyl if I'm putting it on. Only IF and WHEN a customer directly requests it will I offer to put a calendered vinyl on a vehicle. I was just stating that 651 WILL WORK if it's a flat surface.

It more or less sounds like you know what you need to do. It's just that you want someone else to make it clear. Time to fish or cut bait.

Yes - I print to vinyl and apply to FC all the time. Vinyl, Poster, Polypropolyne, pretty much anything that has an adhesive can be mounted to anything. For poster or Polypropolyne we use a spray mount or a print mounting sheet "laminated" to the back of the print.
