  1. SP300 print stopped due to empty ink. Do you think i can continue the print after 15h

Well, I think it depends on what you are printing (coverage), not being able to see your graphic, to determine if a stop/start line (difference) will be noticed, or the size of the whole project (you would have to re-print), I can only suggest to wait for the ink and continue on, only needing 1"...
  2. Trump + Sign = TASTELESS

I think it's just fine, yes it's big and maybe a little much, that's just how Donald rolls. The bigger question I have is when will big government stop sticking their nose in our business, next thing you know, they will be telling you have to sell your team, oh wait they are already are doing...
  3. Sign Painter the Movie, panel discussion

Nice (movie) trailer, I can't wait to get the DVD, I like the bumper sticker reference, "machines have no soul". Here is another good video about Sign Writers: http://vimeo.com/81921161 :thumb:

  5. Roland Eco Sol Max ink?

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the Roland Eco Sol Max ink cartridges with the SQUARE around the color designator and the ink cartridges without the SQUARE? I have seen Roland Eco Sol Max ink both ways with the SQUARE around the color designator and the ink cartridges without...
  6. Roland Disappointment XR-640

:goodpost: Yep! Tell them you have and are still loosing money with this (Lemon) printer. Have them deliver a brand NEW printer and take this one back to the lab and reverse engineer it to see why it has so many problems..... You paid good money for this PRINTER and it's NOT working as...

  9. New wrap for shop truck

I have been in the business a little longer than you, hand lettered my first show cards back in 1967 for car shows and hand lettered my fist 18 wheeler trailers back in 1974 before there were any PC's. Well now, if you are so awesome and experienced, why are you keeping that horrible OLD logo...
  10. Opinion about a food truck.

Or better yet, a beer truck with a nice graphic showing the product like below:
  11. How much do you pay your shop help?

I learned long ago, you get whatever you accept in life, so in your case, if you stay there and accept less than $15 you have no one to blame but yourself. If you really think you deserve more $, spruce up your resume and go look for a new job that pays more money, then when you get an offer...
  12. New wrap for shop truck

Yep, they just buy Corel and they are now Graphic Designers just because they have the software..... Actually, many that purchase a starter vinyl cutter package with software from ebay also join the designers club.....:omg:
  13. Opinion about a food truck.

I think he is missing a BIG opportunity to get more bang for his buck, if he is paying for a full wrap and NOT just vinyl text on the side of the truck, he should feature LARGE nice photos of the food items he plans on selling. The best and cheapest advertising he will find. Again, the full...
  14. New wrap for shop truck

Yea, the logo is BAD, and I would change it sooner than later. The background graphic does remind me of a TILE FLOOR, so my first impression is that it is a tile business. Remember, whatever design you use on the truck, will reflect on your business and what kind of design work your customers...
  15. Removing large vinyl from light up sign

Not sure you are understanding what we mean by ghosting (fading), the parts of the sign that have been covered by the vinyl are usually pretty much white-white like when the sub straight was new, the area where the text was (uncovered), has been faded by being exposed to sunlight more than the...
  16. I lost my best friend Tuesday......

Sorry to hear about your loss (Lexi), I know how you feel and what you are going through right now, we lost our little Long Hair Chihuahua 2 years ago, we got her when she was 6 weeks old and she lived with us 15-1/2 years. Windy Lee slept with us every night all those years, it was really hard...
  17. Scrap Magnet?

You didn't say what size the scraps are, if they are large enough for a post card or larger, print you up some self promo pieces with your contact info and a calendar on it, attach the vinyl to the mag scraps and give to your customers with their next orders, they can slap them on any metal...
  18. Printing RED ?

Yep, this works for me, just print out the Roland color chart for the reds on the exact material you will be using, laminate, and have the customer select whatever red he likes, I would have him view the chart in the daylight, not in your shop (lighting). Then you should be able to match the...
  19. Illustrator

I know you said you wanted old school book, however I find videos much better, just like a photo is worth a 1000 words. I find the Total Training has some of the BEST video tutorials out there, and their video tutorials on Adobe Illustrator are excellent...
  20. Windows 7 upgrade question for dummy's

Now that Win XP is no longer supported, I was thinking to upgrade the software on a older computer to Win 7, has anyone done this? Before starting my graphics business I worked for two large companies that had IT departments, so I never had to do any actual upgrade work on my graphic...
