Select your graphic to be edited, go to object, path - outline stroke, go to pathfinder filters, select merge, then go to the toolbar, draw a box, any size, (draw it away from your graphic out in the open all by itself, fill it with no fill, no stroke,select it, go to select menu, select same...

After laminating make sure you rub the crop marks on the print with a squeegee, this gets out most of the "silvering" from the lam that can occur on newly laminated prints.

Sometimes (on a Mac) if you have a file that won't open in illustrator because it was generated by a newer version, you can just click on the actual file and open it in preview, save (or export I forget) it as a .pdf and then you can open it in illustrator with the vectors intact. Not 100% fool...

I have had this issue intermitantly with both banner material and print media, I have always been able to cure it by going behind the machine and pulling slack on the material before it feeds, this usually has to do with new heavy rolls of material. I didn't have any problem with the prints...
