  1. Printing On Cardboard

We used to use Ultraboard in the past and found it to be a good product, so I don't want to talk you out of that per se, but have you thought of Infinity board? We've fully switched to it and use it quite extensively. It's another foam core board, but it has the added benefit of being able to...
  2. Free Digital Ink for FB500

I agree! We just switched our CET over last week and so far things are quite good. Our cost is 1/3 of what we were paying and the tech came out and did the change over, maintenance and profiling for free as well. We're quite happy with them. I admit, I have been having an issue with one of the...
  3. Why do these nozzles come and go?!?!

Sounds like air in the lines to me. Usually when I get air, my test prints start out looking great and after some solid printing lots of random nozzles begin to drop out. I'd check there first.
  4. Hatch Show Print

A coworker just introduced me to the Hatch name (I already knew the chiles). Pretty interesting stuff. I couldn't imagine a museum about my job and family, 150 years from now hah! http://hatchshowprint.com/ContentPages/history-of-hatch
  5. UV Printer Help

This may not be of any help, but we use a CET xseries-1000. It's the only flatbed I'm familiar with since it's the only one I've ever run, but for the most part we're quite happy with it. Has it had problems? Sure some, but every machine will need repairs at some point. I'm not sure about the...

  7. Flat bed ink supplier

Well, I'm obviously not too excited about risking my machine, but my boss is pushing us to cut costs and this was a vendor he came up with. We are making some pretty substantial cuts in other areas, and saving money on ink would always be nice, but I don't want to risk my equipment. I plan to...
  8. Flat bed ink supplier

Is anyone familiar with Shanghai Super Image Technologies Co? I'm looking into lowering the costs for my CET inks and found these guys. They're really cheap, but being in China I just wanted to see if anyone here has had any dealings with them. I guess you could say I trust the strangers on...
  9. Why we don't have political discussions at Signs 101 ... An allegorical tale

Great Story! Thanks for sharing. Now who wants to burn an effigy of Fred? :P

"Lift flap to open, you pussy" LMAO!
  12. Cleaning the bed

My flat bed is a CET, so I'm not sure if its different, but I just use a razor blade. That or I've found the front edge of a box cutter to work well. Then I use iso to get the shavings cleaned up.
  13. Hello from NorCal

    Welcome!
  14. Ever just up and left?

When I was 18, I read Kerouac's "On the Road." Two weeks later I took off. I spent 10 years traveling and my only real regret is that I ever stopped. Go for it!

Welcome from OK USA as well!
  17. Industrial Laminators VS Regular Laminators

We don't use a take up reel either (though I wish we could). We just have an 8' table behind the laminator that we lay the prints out on, and we cut panels about every 8' as they laminate.
  18. Print & Cut or Cut & Print ?

We use a CET and as funny as it is, I kind of wish it was slower. It generally takes me about 4 minutes to unload/reload material, wipe it down with iso, pull up the next file, adjust my margins and header, bring the gantry forward and start to print. It then takes about 8 minutes or so to run...
