  1. Agfa Anapurna "wait data" error

I've had the same error on our Anapurna Mv since early January 2009, when our machine was a month old. I had our service tech out here a few times over it that first year, but I think he was about as clueless as I was on this one. Don't get me wrong, he knew a lot of the other things with no...
  2. Neatdesk alternative?

Plus one on Scansnap, I use the ix500, it is great, quick, clean, can scan both sides, good software package. You can scan in a ton of stuff in a short time. Ken Miller
  3. Thought it was an easy one...

Minion Pro Regular is really very close. Caps at full size, letters at 78 percent of that number.
  4. backlit material with removable adhesive?

I just got samples of some material from Drytac that is a translucent material with removable adhesive. There is a piece of it on my office glass right now. Easy to apply, easy to remove, has both a white version and a matte finish. It is called "Spot-On". http://www.drytac.com/spot-on.html The...
  5. Common online parts suppliers?

I've purchased a number of parts for our Agfa Anapurna via Digiprint, such as a new belt and print heads. I feel their service was outstanding, answering questions was timely. I ordered my stuff on Friday afternoon (after they had closed for the day) and my stuff was shipped on Monday, arriving...
  6. Aging/ailing parents - So thankful we had "the talk"...

Jim: My thoughts are with you on this. I went through this with my mother, coming up in May, three years ago. It was exactly the same scenario, I waited all day for Doctors to show up, and never saw one, left messages, left my number, nothing, nothing, nothing. A few good nurses, a few poor...
  7. So, what is it you want.......??

    I don't like the font either. :)
  8. Is there any way to get 50 inch Banner??

We've cut down rolls of banner material with both a chop saw and a band saw. It can be less than perfect, but it does work. Ken Miller
  9. Cutting down of label sheets

If you are cutting them down by hand, with ruler, then guillotine cutter, you are investing some time in the cutting. If it were me, I'd find a local friendly printing company with a larger mechanical cutter, with digital controls and let them do the whole thing. I'll bet it would cheaper in...
  10. Clear/Translucent Coroplast

I've actually printed on it, it might also be called milk carton coro or natural coro. We mainly got it for a very temporary use to go a translscent panels inside an aluminum extrusion box, with color lights inside the box. I think it was for some stage type decoration, but its been a few...
  11. ID a font please.

Obviously been put on an angle, but it is the font. http://www.urbanfonts.com/fonts/Yikes!.htm Try it and see Best Ken
  12. The Worm in the Apple...

Absolutely correct that no OS is totally safe. The worm in question, is a pretty small one compared to most. It was downloadable in a program for Bit torrent, a sharing system, usually for less than legal music or movies. This article has a fairly good explanation...
  13. AGFA Anapurna M Print Head Replacement Procedure

We have an Anapurna Mv that we replaced two heads in the last year, it is now 7 years old. I believe that the M and Mv machines are virtually identical internally, short of the LM and LC and Varnish ink and of course their related plumbing and data. I purchased the replacement heads from...
  14. A few hand lettered signs from the vault

Really nicely done, it is a true talent to be able to do that. Thanks for sharing! Ken Miller
  15. 1940s Brush Font ID Please?

No autotrace here, I feel certainly that it was someone who did it the old fashioned way, which was the way it was done then. I redrew it in Illustrator, carefully years ago. We learned lettering back in the dark ages in college, but that was a long time ago, and as I recall, I had no real...
  16. 1940s Brush Font ID Please?

Wow, I thought sure someone here would have made a suggestion, as many good eyes as we have for fonts! I guess I need to go look for some reference books from the era. Ken
  17. Is my printhead defect? (SP540)

I can't speak to your printer, but on my Agfa, it seems the cyans are far more sensitive to static than any other color. It looked a bit like the yellow was having issues to according to the jet test. Best Ken
  18. Is my printhead defect? (SP540)

Yes indeed. Static can be a major issue. Your printout looks more like deflected nozzles to me, as my static issues look more like it is pulling the ink vapor out of the air, and producing a halo or cloud effect, but that could just be me. Have you been wiping the heads with any pressure? To...
  19. transparent letter size pockets for an information board

Another place that I use for stuff like this is: http://www.everydayplastics.com/ They are usually very prompt about sending stuff in a timely manner. YMMV Best Ken
  20. Agfa Mv Ink Overflow error

Afternoon followup here. OK, edited this to reflect the latest. I attempted to drain the sub waste tank unsuccessfully. Tried several times, out of desperation, I said lets take the valve off and see if it was plugged up. I thought that there was no way that had happened, but sure enough, about...
