Justin,
Did you purchase printer direct from HP or authorized reseller? Either way, I would ask my sales rep to run your problem up the HP Service ladder until you got some definitive response from HP as to what the problem is?
I have a customer that needs to cut 4'x8' templates (1/8" to 1/4" plex material) for marking streets and highways.
This is theie ONLY application for the cutter.
Who builds this device? Estimated enduser cost?

Jack,
Faroun has a budget of $25K? You guys really have a flatbed running white ink for $25K? :)
He could buy a Mimaki UJF3042FX with an 11'x16" bed for around $25K; but, can you imagine his problems printing 4'x8' sheets of plexi glass?
Bob
Nate,
That's an impressive array of latex ink printers.
I don't blame you for shopping. :)
I don't know who sold you all those printers; but, if it was one reseller, then I can't imagine they would not want to make sure you were getting the best ink price.
Good Printing.

It's like being between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea when it comes to HP8000's. They were a bust from day one. HP had considerable success with the 9000 for a couple of years before launching the L25500 latex printers. Shortly before the launch of the L25500, Seiko oem'ed HP the 8000...
Tim,
How many banners would you have to print in one day to satisfy your margin requirements for the day if it cost you say $110 to produce each banner and you sold them for $127 each?
My guess would be a BUNCH of banners. :)
Believe me when I say any authorized HP reseller who sells a...
Colorado,
Can't answer that one other than to say customer would like paper for his application. Ive seen a product; but, I don't remember who made it?
Thanks for any help.
HP Latex vs very nice mild solvent solutions from Epson, Mimaki, and Roland
They are all good printers; but, given that HP Latex ink is aqueous and NOT solvent and performs as well unlaminated outdoors, my pick would be HP L26500.
Good printing.
Desktop color inkjet quickly expanded to wide format. 24" and 36" first for CAD printing, then for Giclee, photo, sign posters etc. Manufacturers first moved to 42/44" to include the metric users in Europe and the Pacific RIM. Encad NovaJet54 (54" wide) took the sign market by storm as it was...
RiXaX
S75T will run 30" material; but, only cuts 29.2" wide. If you need to cut 30" then you must step up to S120T.
The tangential knife is much better suited for cutting rubber sand blast mask as well as the prismatic reflective films. The tangential knife lifts and turns at corners...

My take is once your printer is out of warranty, then it is "buyer beware". :)
I resell HP and I am not aware of any well tested third party inks for use in the FB series printers.
If INX were to offer a third party ink for HP/Scitex FB series, I too would be inclined to sell the...
You pay $125,000.00 for an FB700 and now you want a lower cost third party ink?
Does it make sense for manufacturers to jerk you around on ink price just to increase their profit margin?
I think I would want to be really sure about the quality of any third party ink that I would risk...
"all pretty like the HP"? LOL
Love these threads. :) I enjoy the banter, especially from the end users. Smart folks like yourself exercise due diligence prior to purchasing.
I have viewed the evolution of the CET for a couple of years now. It was pretty neat to see Dave Cich post at...
Definately no solvents. Also steer clear of products containing high volume of ammonia.
You have to bear down with alcohol. If you have to clean constantly then laminate; otherwise, wipe clean with water or perhaps mild solution soap and water.
Good printing.
I offer my FB700 prospects a L26500/61" latex ink printer or the roll feed option for the same price; and, if they must have 98" width, then I offer them L28500/10" latex ink printer for the price they would pay for roll feed option plus an additional $15K+.
