  1. Vista or the PC?

Putting XP on a machine ain't no big deal, but that's not the answer I'm looking for unless it REALLY is Vista. Research goes both ways on this, but looking for feedback from others that may have come across this.

  4. Vista or the PC?

So I needed to get another PC for us. I found a refurbed Gateway with really good specs and for a nice price. It has the Quad Core Q6600, 3GB of ram, SATA hard drive, 256MB nVidia video card, etc.....pretty decent specs overall. In fact, pretty similar to a machine I custom-built a while back...

Not to be a thread-jacker, but here is a link to the post I made about the different solvents on Triangle ink. And in fact it was IPA, DA, Mineral Spirits and carb cleaner that I used. http://printingdigital.net/forums/solvent-eco-solvent/226-household-solvent-testing.html

  8. After Market plug and play Inks

Aren't the Roland MAX inks impervious to alcohol? I know that the original inks were not, which is one main reason why I went with Triangle right out of the gate. I did a test early on with several chemicals...70% IPA, Denatured Alcohol, Carb cleaner and something else, I forget what. Even...

  10. Easy question about crop marks

True, many don't. We've been using 4Over quite a bit this year and they prefer crop marks, though it is not a requirement. Sorry, can't help you with the Illy question as I don't use it, I use Corel instead and it has the option to insert crop marks when creating the PDF.

  19. Bitstream FontNav OpenType problem

Not sure what is going on here, but Bitstream keeps giving me the attached error when trying to load SOME, but not ALL OpenType fonts. This is only occuring with OpenType fonts and on just the one PC, so it must have something to do with a setting or conflict. Have not been able to find any...
  20. rolling printed banner material

If giving to a customer,I'd wait a minimum of about 4 hours. You might be able to get by with less, but 24 is even better if possible. When in production, I roll it up as it goes, but I try not to leave it like that when possible.
