  1. Need Help First time posting and beginner sign maker

I'd start by using height/width instead of length/width. Things can get confusing.
  2. I see stars

That looks like the new 4 year removable. Sticky at first, but easily removed and forgotten. Doesn't respond well to heat. Not conformable to any standard.
  3. Graphic Tracer

Vector magic is great... but this does things that VM doesn't. Font ID and automatic distortion of a clean font is pretty cool. I think we're gonna give it a shot.
  4. Question flexie

AI doesnt always translate well into flexi. Often, there are multiple layers of the same vector, stacked so it is impossible to tell. Try clicking on the surface layer and shift-moving it off of its original position, and seeing what is underneath.
  5. I need a designer who can also do production

That said... I'm an employee, not an owner (yet), and I'd like to think that I'd pay people what they are worth. While I've hired a sales team to work under me in the past, never hired GA/production/Ops.
  6. I need a designer who can also do production

I walked in a sign shop about 8 years back and they hired me, for sales. Since then, I now do nearly all of my own design for my projects, can apply, weed, trim, mask vinyl, install, permit, etc. Also do shop drawings well enough that our engineer basically stamps them and hands em back. The...
  7. I need a designer who can also do production

Almost everyone can be trained in production... it's better to start with the harder position to train - artistic talent FIRST and go the other way.
  8. Have always loved this

I like how all the lines look straight on an overlay... but when applied to complex curves of a boat will be 8 kinds of out of whack.
  9. I need a designer who can also do production

Just do what everyone else in the world does and hire a GA out of college, train them in production, and then continue to pay them the rate of a GA. When they get tired of low rates and long hours, rinse, repeat. It's a win for you and a lose for them, but who cares, they're expendable. AMIRITE?
  10. Wrap Scam

Make sure you send condolences to his "boys"... as often as you can. Maybe add a similar story, involving a spiked fence, multiple surgeries, and your final decision to give up and just go full transgender.
  11. does anyone know this font or how to achieve its look, thanks in advance

I think a more effective and realistic texture can be attained by reaching in the nearest toilet bowl and reliving kindergarten art class.
  12. Blocked.............

If you're really so sensitive that you have to A) block someone on a public forum and b) brag about how good your life is while simultaneously bashing them on the same forum.... you probably shouldn't be on the internet.
  13. If you are..

Since I'm a humourless @$$hole... and since there probably are some people that will take this as sage advice... I'm doing it for the newbs. Shopping for the lowest possible price.... - Sell your quality. Telling me you want to make a HUGE order and want best price, but only order one to see...
  14. Need Help Looking for supplier for different colors of acm in my area.

Auto grade paint on flat stock aluminum is your best bet.
  15. Need Help Probably a stupid question.....

Customer asked for it specifically, I normally wouldn't bother. They are a metal place and likely have their own oven so trying to keep costs down, I guess. Thanks
  16. Need Help Probably a stupid question.....

Can ACM be powder coated, or will the curing oven melt the core?
