  1. It happened again

In the "old" days most screen print shops would charge a set-up or screen making fee. Today most shops already include that in the quote. But back then the client knew he didn't "own" the screen. The best he could hope for was that you'd warehouse the screen for a year. Even if you reclaimed...
  2. Anyone know this one?

Fell asleep last night while going through every Garamond font on my CD's...lol. When I could find the weight, the stylized "W" wasn't there. When I found the serifs rounded, the slant top on the "A" wasn't there. Yet I know I have used that font at some time in the past. Maybe from a...
  3. wrinkle-free banner?

We don't ship much of anything. Customer comes by and picks up or on a large local order we can deliver.
  4. Anyone know this one?

It is in the Garamond family. Trying to remember which foundry. Stay tuned.
  5. No film, no emulsion, no exposure, no wash

Wouldn't touch ANYTHING with a DOT. No halftones, no grad. tones, no sepia, NADA. No DOTS!!! A period at the end of a sentence is as close as we come. That's for shirts, signs, decals, whatever.
  6. wrinkle-free banner?

Mosh hit it on the head. We used to have a plastic tag with banner instructions (DO NOT FOLD - ROLL ONLY!!!) along with cleaning instructions, our name and number, etc. that we'd use when we had them sewn after constructing. That and all banners get rolled onto a cardboard core from...
  7. No film, no emulsion, no exposure, no wash

I'm in Florida....I use the sun more often than not to expose screens with color blocks (no small type on it) rather than walk all the way to the exposure area (separate building) and set everything up. I don't need power. Just watch the film color change. I could print all the "I'm with...
  8. wrinkle-free banner?

I wish I could help you but I have yet to come across any material that doesn't cause problems when improperly handled. Fresh of the roll it should be perfect. Are you saying it wrinkles when unspooling?
  9. 4' x 8' Screen Printing

I am willing to bet some design firm charged an arm and a leg to design that sign (I know we get ad agency crap in here a lot) designed one of the worst they could. Those firms might do an awesome mailer but they are clueless when it comes to signage. Red surrounded by blue just doesn't work.
  10. screenshots you can see on here?

Hey, many years ago we had a computer monitor that would rotate between portrait and landscape. Handy at times.
  11. Eye Test

The customer paid for an 18" x 24" and by golly, he's going to use every square inch. Got his money's worth, I see.
  12. St. Louis Cardinals

I have a question. Especially since this isn't an are I dabble in since most of this has transpired after my kids were too old to play. How is it that TONS of Little League teams have the same name and use the same stylized typefaces for their uniforms and such as the Majors? I am sure...
  13. Easiest way to make these?

If I get into this, and after reading all the replies, I am thinking that the simple solution is to get whatever color reflective I need (per the spec) and use a Gerber/Summa type machine to print the interior white areas and maybe add some white on the outside for appearance and just do a...
  14. Aluminum Street Pole Signs - Brackets HELP ???

    Stuff like at: http://www.image1impact.com/ ?
  15. So you don't think it can happen to you...

It is not 'illegal' until a court of competent jurisdiction says it is. The most ignorant and ill-informed are the folks who are the alleged inforcers. You'll have to trust me on that. BTW, I hope those folks are also deputized federal officers. Otherwise, depending on cirumstance, they...
  16. Easiest way to make these?

I'm saving and printing this out. I have never used the registration option on the Graphtec. We normally just use Corel Draw and dump via CoCut for everyday work. In multi-color I apply my own preferred reg marks manually where it is feasible to do so (not waste a lot of vinyl). My only...
  17. Easiest way to make these?

Won't work. The colored vinyl must be reflective. At a min. Engineering Grade. I could just provide the cut vinyl taped as a background is not really necessary (if push came to shove). I was looking for a way to eliminate the tape on the final product.
  18. Easiest way to make these?

You sort of missed the point. I need the end user/installer to not have to wrestle with tape. It should be applicable like a plain printed decal.
