  1. Graphtec plotters help!!!

For drivers and software: http://www.graphtecamerica.com/support/legacy/support_fc5100_drivers-downloads.html For the manual and quick start guide go to: http://www.graphtecamerica.com/support/ Click Plotters on the left. Then at the bottom right select the legacy option. You should...
  2. Hack for a pounce wheel CE5000-120?

A few years back I got the 48" machine with an eye to make pounce patterns for paint jobs - or so I thought. I really did think that I had done due diligence as when I called several dealers for pricing on the unit I asked how much extra a pounce wheel was and each and every company that me...
  3. Free clipart

It has a fairly convoluted license included so I went to their Website, clicked on the FAQ and copied and pasted into the license what I found there as to useage. Always good to have a copy of the lic. to review prior to using any art.
  4. Free clipart

Yesterday I received an e-mail from clipartandfonts.com giving me free access to a "hearts" file (part of a promotion, I guess). I DL'd it. A hefty 250megs. The 'art' is more akin to tattoos than Valentine's Day but might be worth a look to some. Get it at...
  5. Looking for a source for flags

Try Annin (in NY, I thinK) for cloth flags. There are the largest American producer of American flags. For other flags, banners, printed plastics, etc. try Nabco. They are ASI but they do advertise in many sign mags so they will sell to us direct.
  6. 1-shot Cleaning Brushes

I have never used anything but lard oil...still have and use 40+ year-old brushes. Mineral oil is good because it is NEUTRAL and you can drink it. Good for seasoning kitchen cutting boards as well. Too expensive vs. lard oil for brushes. Bottom line: if it isn't safe to ingest, it...
  7. Federal Business Partners

Never heard of them but did come across this recently: http://sdgmag.com/article/big-break-small-businesses Might be of interest to some.
  8. custom boxes

You might wish to specify type of box. Jewelry, shipping, custom made, etc.
  9. Roland 3rd party ink choices or feedback

How about an analogy to steer your thinking a bit? How would you feel if bought a new car or truck and the mfg. stated you could only use X-Brand of gas and oil or NO warantee? You'd scream. Oh, and guess what? All the gasoline vendors get their product from the same storage tanks at the...
  10. Advice on "FOR SALE" sign?

What I have found effective and something we do for brokers who deal in commercial property is to break the sign into 3 sections. 1. a scale plat drawing. 2. what is being offered (usually bulleted in some way) 3. contact info including broker's logo. As to #2 - zoning info is a MUST...
  11. Re relettering Lexan?

That kind of job should be bread and butter. I'd love to do 3 a day instead of 2-3 a week. Sure there will be some sort of ghost outline. So what? Depending on the viewing distance it may not even be noticeable. Just clean it well before applying the new legend. In any case, tell the...
  12. Best vinyl to use?

Thanks Tracy. I would never get into the dye sub end. If the decals prove popular then I am sure somewhere down the road the graphics would be licensed to the specialty companies who are, in turn, licensed by the various gaming commissions to provide gaming table layouts. In fact, in some...
  13. Oregon DOT signs

I really shouldn't say this being new to the forum (but not to the industry) but this place is the last place anyone should rag on spelling. There are many posts here where the spelling borders on the atrocious. Don't get me wrong, it is in line with what I see in non-related forums but...
  14. SP-540 Printing blurred/overspray

If it were a screen printed job then that would be ink crawl due to static.
  15. dvd game on mylaptop freezes entire comp?

That can happen if you have used your computer for a while. Memory that was allocated to the previous tasks may not have not have been freed up so your computer doesn't see it as available. A memory defrag program may halp. Or only play the game from a fresh boot. Programs such as Game...
  16. copyrights and infringement

I respectfully disagree, there is no grey area there. "Works for Hire" has a set legal definition within the IP field and co-ordinates itself fairly much with the IRS definitions of employee vs. independent contractor as well. There is a myriad of case law on 'works for hire' and the legal...
  17. Copywrite stuff

The LA Atty. Gen. stepped up to the plate on that. http://www.nfl.com/superbowl/story?id=09000d5d816224b8&template=with-video-with-comments&confirm=true
  18. Best vinyl to use?

Thanks for those thoughts. Just to clarify things. The decals will be installed by the casino's in-house staff. Same guys who replace the table coverings. The casinos will be provided the decals, a squeegee, and an install sheet complete with photos and a reference to some YouTube vids. I...
  19. wow the static makes lamination very difficult

If that is addressed to me doing that would be next to impossible. We virtually work outdoors when all the windows and overhead doors are open. And they need to be open using NazDar Coro inks.
  20. Getting car wax off?

DON'T!!! You only do that for applying magnet material. In fact, give the mag backside some wax as well. We used either Prep Sol or Ditzo for years with good results. In fact, before I letter a painted RE blank, I wipe the blank with Ditzo first, just to be safe.
