    Good plan! Keep us posted!
  2. Help

Correct on the ribbon positions now. However, the power issue obviously needs to be fixed first. This is starting to get into electronics technician level troubleshooting with a multimeter and possibly an oscilloscope and the ability to read schematics. You may want to consider reaching out to...
  3. Help

Start over and put the ribbons back like the way they were in the attached pic. Then see if you can power up. Also check the main power fuses where the power supplies are. If you get power then we can move on. To clarify the ribbon swap - head 1 left ribbon goes to head 2 left connector. Head 1...
  4. Help

Don't power it up like that. You have crisscrossed the ribbons on each head. The ribbon pairs lay on top of each other. Look carefully at the diagram.
  5. Help

This looks like the normal ribbon setup. 1. Did you examine the traces on both ends of the ribbons? 2. Are there any LEDs lighting up? When doing the ribbon swap, you only do it at one end. It may be easiest to do it at the carriage board. The idea is to have the K/C channel driving the M/Y head...

  7. Help

Yes, but do not cross over the ribbons in each pair.
  8. Help

Please send a pic of how the ribbons are plugged into the printheads. As illustrated, the ribbon pairs are moved as a set only at the printhead end. Left ribbons go to left channels, right to right. Also check that none of the ribbon traces are damaged at both ends.
  9. Help

Do a ribbon swap as illustrated and post a new nozzle test. Be sure to power down and unplug for 15 minutes... If it's not clear, ask...
  10. What's Stopping My Print? Roland BN20A

The BN-20 series are USB only. That's why I'm questioning the use of ethernet...
  11. What's Stopping My Print? Roland BN20A

Agree that the adapter is possibly ok. The bigger question for me is why use it at all, unless the computer is so far away from the printer that a USB cable can't be used.
  12. What's Stopping My Print? Roland BN20A

Replace the ethernet-USB adapter. It sounds like a data loss.... Is there a reason you aren't connecting it directly to the USB port on the computer?

  16. Need Help Roland Sp540v Servo board replace

Ziyaad messaged me about an old thread I posted about a fix I implemented on an SP-540 where the platen fans never turned off. Based on a suggestion from a local tech in his area, this is a possible workaround. He has obtained a power supply for the fans themselves. The fans can be hooked up...
  17. Need Help Color shifted mid print and can’t get it back

Hopefully you kept the old head. If it's a cracked nipple, as suggested by Netsol, you can use the manifold from that head. Also, a tip on filling dampers - hold the damper upside down when filling it, as you can get more ink in the damper. If the ink level in the damper is too close to the...
  18. Need Help Color shifted mid print and can’t get it back

It looks like you are missing the entire cyan channel and the light cyan looks like it has issues. You should print the fill test in service mode. That will tell you a lot more. Look for banding while printing and look at the edges of each color after printing. The edges should be crisp, not...
  19. Flush Roland SP-540v

OP's printer is an SP-540V, not a VS. As others have suggested, do the head wash 2 times, but then clip off the 2 cap lines, fill the caps with cleaning solution, park the heads and unplug the printer, leaving the cleaning cartridges in the printer. This will clear the ink and also keep the...
  20. The Flex cable on the Roland Versacamm SP 540v

Also verify the length is the same. The length is the critical dimension for proper operation of the cable movement during printing.
