  1. Vehicle Template Questions

Although I personally have not used templates, I am interested in doing so. One thing that I would advocate is to offer single templates for sale as opposed to being forced into the entire collection.
  2. Almost ready to get into this mess

One solution is sign pricing software, which is something that I've been offering for a few years now. Here is a thread on it: http://www.signs101.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17236
  3. Any ideas on why this is happening?

I don't think you can adjust head height on the SP300
  4. Any ideas on why this is happening?

Yeah, it's a head strike. The mat'l isn't laying totally flat for you and the head is subsequently rubbing that raised-up ridge. Try adding another pinch roller if you have them (my 540 has several extras but I'm not sure about the 300). Also, you may try lowering the heat to keep the mat'l...
  5. Solara UV

Curious...what does the ColorSpan 5400 printers cost? Is this ColorSpan's cheapest model? On the Gerber site, they have the Solara for like $58k with Onyx.
  6. Solara UV

Just curious if anyone has one of these or has some experience with them. I was just looking at their website and was wondering about it. I'm not really in the market for one, but just wonder how it compares to some of the other UV printers. Seems like production output is pretty slow (slower...
  7. Big Squeegee and Opt. Clear laminate

I have a question regarding this combination. I was reading Dale's site and he recommends a laminate with a thick liner for best results. I am using optically clear laminate which has a very thin synthetic liner. For those that have used theirs very much, is this comination going to be...
  8. Laminator problems...or is it me?!

I've got a couple of them, but not big enough for full-size prints.
  9. Laminator problems...or is it me?!

I forget the weight of the paper, but it is plenty thick...probably 30# to 50# I'd guess...maybe heavier I don't really know. On mine, there's no way to really check the adjustment of the roller, as each side is adjusted by a threaded knob. The way I was shown and have been doing it is to...
  10. Laminator problems...or is it me?!

I have a DingTec BU-1600C IIZ 60” width laminator and have been pretty successful in using it for almost 2 years now. Recently, I've been having issues with it producing wrinkles. These kinds start as waves and then move transversely across (usually from left to right) as the laminate is...
  11. Font Please :)

    I think "Tim" is LaserPlain
  12. cnc router for kitchen cabinets?

Pretty sure that's exactly what they are using them for here: http://www.shopbottools.com/cabinetmaking.htm
  13. Alignment Problem Sp540v

Mine has done this a time or two and is the encoder strip that has been previously mentioned.
  14. Valuejet 1204 or 1604?

Personally, I'd never choose a 48" machine...you cannot print a full-bleed 4' wide panel! If it were me, I'd be looking at 54" minimum, and look HARD at a 63" or better machine.
  15. What The Font couldn't help...can you?

Glad I could entertain...just seemed like the right thing to do!
  16. What The Font couldn't help...can you?

Just smear some poo on a card and you'll have it!
  17. how do u add fonts to X3

Do you use any Font manipulation software (I'm assuming not). Corel comes with Bitstream which is pretty decent actually. I also like and use Extensis Suitcase. This keeps the gazillion fonts manageable because you can turn on and off the fonts as needed to keep from choking your system.
  18. Masking Vector Text and BMP Background

Use the PowerClip feature...pretty sure this will get you there!
  19. Gerber Edge FX capabilities...

Thermal and inkjet printers are TOTALLY different animals. Though they have overlapping capabilities, each is better and worse at certain types of projects. You need to determine what those projects are BEFORE you decide on the printer-type.
  20. Roland SP 300V sq ft p/hr

Here is the page you're looking for. http://www.rolanddga.com/color/products/printcut/Versa/default.asp?menu=FEATURES&submenu=7&nxt=2&totsubcnt=15 FYI, I get exactly DOUBLE the rated output speed on my 540V...64 SFPH at 720x720 8-pass mode. This is directly related to the RIP, ink and...
