  1. Substrate question

I have a Church that wants a sign built with longevity in mind, so I explained that steel framing may be the answer, and of course regular maintenance is the key. So, with that being said, if I were to build steel frame work, as in, two steel pole uprights, and a bottom cross bar, a letter "H"...
  2. shipping issues

There is an endless list of reasons why there is a supposed trucker shortage.... After 20 years over the road, seeing the Gubment implement new rules about when you can eat, where and when you can sleep, or even take a dump, still low pay and an endless list of what it takes to get and do the...
  3. Not sure how to handle 3rd party job not picked up

I think the only reputation you will get is in your own mind. How can you feel bad about something you have no control over? Call the folks who ordered the sign, tell them what happened, and the rest will roll down hill and land where it may.
  4. Suggestions Looking for Stone Work for Pole

Faux Stone is another name for it.... Unless your well versed in it, like "W" said, get a stone mason to do the work. A lot involved if you want it to last. That actually looks like Faux Stone. I see joints on the corners....
  5. Used/Scrapped Composite Panels

What do y'all do with your scrap composite panels. The scrap yards don't want anything to do with it. Solutions?

  7. Need Help Removing old dead vinyl

I have always wondered if these wraps will come back to haunt everyone. What about all the cars that get wrapped? What happens to the value of them as time goes on and the wrap gets old and starting to crack? If I had a car that had been wrapped, and I want to get a new car, will anyone take...
  8. Adding address numbers to an existing monument

Do you mean, "how to fasten them to the sign", or "where to put them?" As far as where, small and between the ECHO.CHURCH and the bottom red line for the logo is about the only choice. As far as how, depends on what it's made of?
  9. USPS Craziness

Are you getting a receipt for everything you mail. If not, you better. Then it's on them. If it's not in writing, you have nothing to stand on. We take everything and post it personally, get a recipe, and when there has been a problem, (which is rare), like a hoodie not getting delivered...
  10. Does anyone else hate online reviews?

I don't read them, nor do I leave any reviews. If the service was that bad, I'm certainly not going back for more, nor am I gonna waste 15 minutes to write a review. I agree, read through reviews and find middle ground, go from there. I have dealt with a million Normans over the years...
  11. Talk about an @$! whooping!

It's always been that way, in every trade I have ever been in. Like you say, there is always that "ONE" that stands out.

    Grind the rivets off! Hahahahahahaa
  13. TABC - Signage Regulation "liquor"

Why not ask the City your working in and let them guide you?
  14. Suggestions Best solutions to removing old vinyl

I never hear of anyone using Goof-Off to remove the glue. That's all I use. As far as removing the vinyl, it's a whatever works for the situation type deal for me. There is no one particular tool or method.
  15. Travel Fee for Sign Services?

We have a trip charge for everyone, except in our own county. We give a price for the work and tell them there is a trip charge added. We have traveled from North Texas to the Southern Border. If they will pay, we will go. Nothing better than a paid weekend away. You will not please everyone...

Once they buy it, it's theirs to do with as they please.
  17. Vinyl Express plotters

They are not the only ones that sell them.
  18. Completely washed out backlit panels

Spray the white background like I did for 30 some years... always works. Do they even make spray paint for sign faces any more?
  19. Dealing with cheap real estate agents

We do Real Estate Signs all over the Metroplex. The last thing I would use is an auger to dig holes. There is so much crap buried everywhere, the last thing I want to do is drill a phone cable, water line, better yet an electric line that Grampa installed for a light on his old pole sign... or...
