  1. What are your thoughts on the S80600?

Brilliant printer. Probably widest gamut of any solvent currently available. Very quick too. Ink is dry to touch before it hits the take up roller. We've laminated both immediately and waited the recommended 6 hours but haven't had any failures yet in 2+ years of owning it. We use Onyx and it...
  2. Need Help Have a Epson 80600 with an error message code 2012 [SA013G5]

Service manual shows this for error code 2012:
  3. MORE force needed with a brand new blade

Like Big Easy above, we cut vinyl (single layer) at 17-18 and laminated at 24-25 on our FC8600. I too think that the blade might have been out too far before changing it to the new one.
  4. Need Help Print smearing and dumping ink problem

When was the last time the captop and ink drain lines were changed? We used to change ours every 3 months when we had a VS-540 and it got rid of 90% of the problems we ever had.
  5. Epson S80600 stuck at a prompt, need a solution.

I stand corrected. White/Metallic can only be idle for ~6 days according to the manual. There are some pre-storage maintenance routines to be run if leaving for longer than two weeks, but I've spoken directly with Epson about this when we had our S80600 installed and they have no issues leaving...
  6. Epson S80600 stuck at a prompt, need a solution.

Garbage. I've had our printer unplugged from the wall for 3 weeks and come back to all nozzles firing after one light clean.
  7. PLEASE HELP!!!Need printinstaler for Onyx X10 for HP designjet L25500

Weird thing is, the copy I uploaded came from my x10.2 ISO file that I ripped from the original discs. Your file is different to mine upon a binary comparison so hopefully it helps.
  8. Need Help How do you change the cut start position

I can't help, but Onyx is just as ridiculous as this... 99% of the time it will start cutting at the diagonal opposite of the origin. I fail to understand any benefit of this.
  9. Wedding seating chart

We make multiple seating charts a week for one of our clients. All charts are UV printed on a flatbed in ~5 minutes with white ink. There is NO way we would cut and weed hundreds of letters. It's not worth anyone's time. Good thing is, we recycle the glass/mirror each week by scraping off the...
  10. IJC257 vs IJC256

IJ257 still doesn't cover fingerprints or masking marks fully. You will still notice them in lighter areas of print quite easily. It's not as bad in areas of darker print, but at the correct angle of view they will show up just as badly as 256 ever did.
  11. IJC257 vs IJC256

IJ256 will eventually be phased out from what I've heard. We moved to IJ257 about 18 months ago. The only downside... and it's so minor it doesn't really qualify, is that the magenta channel can sometimes clog up faster than when on IJ256, but only when the printer is left for days upon days...
  12. Onyx versions

Deleting everything from the queue folder should get it up and running again. You can then re-add the files back piece by piece until it crashes again. You'll eventually find the culprit job which will need to be re-created. We did this today for the first time in years. Painful, but only lost 2...
  13. PLEASE HELP!!!Need printinstaler for Onyx X10 for HP designjet L25500

Wow, that's really odd as the driver came from my x10.2 Onyx DVD. I don't even have a driver DVD with my copy of 12.2 so that makes no sense at all. I don't have anything else here to offer you sorry... just checked the DVD again and I uploaded the correct file :(

  15. Oce 460 GT Cyan Nozzle Check

Checking head height is a good option... it doesn't take much to send it out of alignment. Only 2mm will cause the print to blur enough to be visually distinguishable. Our tech said that if you push too hard during the suction part of the cleaning process, you can dislodge the head in an upward...
  16. Looking for a new printer....need your opinions

If you're interested in sticking to the solvents, a few of us on here will recommend the current Epson S40600/60600/80600 models, each of which fills its own niche (entry level/high speed/huge gamut). All are virtually grain free in comparison to many other printer models. Haven't experienced...
  17. News So Long Latex 792 and LX610 Inks...

Hey, not bashing Roland overall... our VS-540 was an absolute workhorse for 8 years straight. For such a small sample size of members on here, there appear to be a disporportionate amount of issues since the VG line arrived so it's certainly been a worry. When we went new printer shopping, we...
  18. News So Long Latex 792 and LX610 Inks...

How did these even make the list considering the vast number of issues with the Roland range of late? Unless you missed the numerous posts about them on here somehow
  19. News So Long Latex 792 and LX610 Inks...

I just bought some genuine inks last week for our Canon MX850 inkjet bought in in 2008 - 11 years old. We also have a HP 4250 laserjet from 2002 (which HP discontinued producing in 2005) that still runs genuine toners and just put through the 2nd maintenance kit which is done every 200,000 pages...
