We had to move ours out of one room to the main shop area because an employee was having allergy-type symptoms -- tongue swelling, etc. There definitely are unhealthy vapors from this machine.
It does seem to be the worst with 3m 180 -- other vinyls tend to do better on the smell, so I suspect...
Actually, on both the HP forum and this one, these issues are well documented. and Dypinc in particular has been relentless in trying to get HP to address them.
Updated firmware has improved the color consistency issues, and we no longer have to replace the light magenta/light cyan head every...
It's definitely on the actual HP site. But I get a 404 error when I try to download it. The tech support guy on the forum doesn't know what it's for, either.

We have two GS 6000s, and they're our workhorse machines, despite having an Epson SC 70670 and HP Latex 360 (both of which we use). They are our most reliable machines by far, and they're several years old.
Run an automatic nozzle alignment. If the bars on the nozzle alignment have an arc instead of a rectangular shape, it's a known issue. You'll need to replace the magenta and light magenta printheads and update your firmware. I would also call HP about it -- they probably will replace your heads.
Call HP tech support about this. Their techs have the firmware and will replace them. It is a serious issue that cost our company thousands, and HP hasn't been very proactive in addressing it.
Go to "clean nozzles" and print a test plot. Look for lines that have faint dashes instead of straight lines. I think a print head is bad ... probably LM/LC.
Yes. If you leave the takeup reel on at the front panel, it will give you no end of grief with fake material jam messages. Just leave it off up there and tape it up as normal. Slide the bar through once it gets low enough.
