  1. Epson S70 Printing White (Multi-Layer Printing) Advice

Disable the multilayers and print white and the other ink simultaneously. (The white ink prints a bit before or after the other ink.) If it's still not slow enough to dry the white ink before putting color on top of it, go to printer settings and print with one head only. Then grab a book...
  2. head crash epson sc-s70610

Argh. I'm sorry, we've had this happen to us. Either (a) you got bad ink that destroyed the head or, (b) your head hit the metal media guide when it crashed, thereby destroying the head (happened to us twice), or (c) the Epson SureColor demon just made it stop. I'm betting on B.
  3. Onyx 11 - Layout tool Image Bleed

Great question -- I've wondered that about Wasatch!
  4. Gerber: Ink, Service for Gerber CAT UV to be provided until at least 2018

"In support of the continued print demands from our Gerber CAT UV and Solara ion installed printer base, Gerber is pleased to announce our successful negotiation with Konica Minolta to provide ink for an additional two year period. The two year extension will allow Gerber to provide ink at a...
  5. Ultraflexx 18oz Blockout LTX on L360

Media Name: 18 oz. Pole Banner Actually, the 6 pass is at 80% density and works great. We have a recurring 2-sided job with a black background and haven't had any color issues.
  6. edge quality on Latex 360

Yes. Our 360 was printing so I couldn't check. Thanks!
  7. edge quality on Latex 360

It also might have something to do with Onyx. You could check their site for updates as well.
  8. Ultraflexx 18oz Blockout LTX on L360

I hear you. I've wasted so much of the same material the same way. I've arrived at a happy medium -- a combination of a custom profile and a few tricks. 1. Don't use the other platen. For anything. In my experience it's guaranteed head strikes and issues. (Same goes for the "loading tool.") 2...
  9. edge quality on Latex 360

The latest firmware adds a 600 dpi option to the profiles and also has an edge smoothing setting in the settings. We were experiencing the same issue. Also, if you have a different rip, I believe Wasatch and Caldera have the 600 dpi option in their interface. In our experience...
  10. S70670 Recomendation

Run away. We have one and everybody involved regrets our having it. Including the techs. DSGI did a good job summing up the problems, so I won't go through them again, but we use ours primarily for white printing because we can't trust it on any other jobs. Unbelievably bad printer, although...

A union shop, I take it?
  13. Hp L260 and Arlon DPF 8000

We printed on DPF 8000 with the HP Latex 360. It worked pretty well with the generic self-adhesive vinyl profile (I think we did bump up the heat a bit), but it did leave glue residue all over (which it does on our solvent printers as well).

Check out http://www.barrierjackets.com/. (The link I posted earlier was for the parent company, Tamis.)
  15. Retractable Banner Scratching? how to prevent

BigFish has a 9 mil satin rollup that prints quite well on our Epson GS6000s and S70670 and doesn't scratch (even without lam). Also, Arlon has a "pebble-white" stock that also works well, but it has a bluish cast.
  16. Invoices

    Carbonlessondemand.com or ncrforms.com.
  17. 3 part NCR sheets?

These are three vendors I've worked with. Depending on your needs (wraparound book, perforation, numbering, etc.), one of these should be able to provide them quite affordably. ncrforms.com - easy to work with, do great work carbonlessondemand.com - wholesale account option bestvaluecopy.com -...
  18. Looking for anti-microbial pressure sensitive laminate

We're trying to find a pressure-sensitive anti-microbial laminate. Does anyone have suggestions?
  19. Updated: Two Wasatch RIPs, two GS6000, one won't print.

Yes, Wasatch is different builds and serial numbers. We had to have an updated Wasatch to run the SC 70670, and we already had an older version that we upgraded. It's a bit of protection against one computer crashing and shutting us down for a day or two. Both computers are on the same network.
  20. Updated: Two Wasatch RIPs, two GS6000, one won't print.

I'm printing to two Epson GS 6000's from Wasatch RIP, which we have installed on two computers. On the first computer (Wasatch 6.9), I get an network error message when I try to print to the first printer, yet I'm able to print to the second printer fine. The second computer (Wasatch 7.0)...
