I come from a hand-lettering background. Back then I called them "lettering styles". I learned a few from books and made up a lot of my own. When I moved to a computer I have never gotten good at identifying fonts by name. Often I recognize a font or see it in my mind (what's left of it) but...
This is probably a cheesy fix, more of a workaround, but when I'm in a hurry I just open the .ai file in photoshop and save it as a .jpg. It prints fine.
But I am going to take a look at the rendering intents as suggested. That would be a permanent fix without needing the workaround.
It surely doesn't get as hot on the outside of the box as say, a vehicle standing outside on a sunny, 90 degree day. As in so hot you can't touch it. Digital holds up to that pretty well.
I saw your thread title "Need company to wrap van in less than 2 weeks" and I'm thinkin' hell, I can wrap a van in less than 2 weeks.
But then I see it's in Oregon.
Then I got to thinkin' some more and figured you didn't really mean I could take 2 weeks to wrap it.
So, I'm gonna have to...
I did mine all on my own. No template book or even instructions.
The job fell to me when I worked at a large format printing company. One of our clients wanted a free standing POP display. My supervisor figured I'd be the one who could do it.
The way I did them was to design in Illustrator...
Dang!
Back in the late 90's I designed dozens of POP displays that were cut out of coroplast on a rolling die cutter. Some folded into a display and some required two or three separate pieces to complete the standing display. A few months ago I was looking for those files just to reminisce but...
And they all say that. I've done something like 37 stock cars over the years. I'm not sure that I ever got one through another car I did. Those guys are competing with each other. If he loves the way his car looks he's not going to refer me to another driver because he doesn't want that guy's...
Love Before & Afters. I really like your use of cartoon characters. Very memorable plus they seem to make all the different design and color schemes work.
My biggest mistake was subbing out 200 yard signs that were printed with the word service spelled wrong. I think I bumped the "e" key when typing an "r" and ended up with "Serevice".
I think my biggest mistake in the sign business was trying to be everything to everybody. I've since boiled...
I'm impressed as usual Joe, but this time because of what you've been able to do with just three colors.
Black & white is not too difficult to work with but creating a good balance like that with three colors (plus the shirt) seems a more daunting task. It makes me want to invent a job just to...
Since you said any input would be appreciated I'll throw my limited experience in.
I printed almost a whole roll of DPF8000 on an HP8000 for a job similar to yours. We had to install cut-out letters to an interior cement block wall that was painted with latex. DPF8000 is extremely sticky. It...
