  1. Suggestions Creating a icc profile for window perf

I run 3M IJ67 perf on my HP Latex and was having issues when I was first trying to find a correct profile. HP mentions that there is a library of profiles for various medias, but of course the media you are running isn't always available. 3M has mentioned to me that running the IJ180 profile is...
  2. Anyone else having trouble with shutterstock?

I've have often had issues when using Shutterstock and prefer iStock. Shutterstock has mentioned to me in the past that using the Chrome browser is always recommended...
  3. New HP Latex 115 and 115 Cutter Combo!

Thinking about this setup for my operation. Anyone running this combo yet? I am curious as to whether or not I will need to be investing in any additional software (Onyx, Caldera etc...) I have Mac computers and would also like to run these machines of my Macs. An HP representative told me I...
  4. 3M Color Swatches

I've always managed to get my hands on swatch books from my suppliers and various trade shows - never paid for a swatch book. From my experiences 3M always seems to have several different booklets for their various vinyl categories (reflective, specialty, intermediate, cast, translucent etc...)...
  5. Suggestions HP 365 + Graphtec or Summa

If you are planning to buy an HP printer and like what you are hearing about the Summa cutters why not by a print cut combo from HP. I spoke to a HP rep at a sign show in Toronto this past weekend and he mentioned the cutters that HP is offering with their print cut combos are in fact rebranded...
  6. Roland Vs. Summa

I own a Roland cutter and have no complaints. I used to work at a sign shop and operated an older Summacut machine. Both are great in my opinion. Never seem to hear much bad news about the Summas when it comes to cutting!
  7. 3M wrap material

When I began installing graphics I was often using 3M products and always loved them. I have been experimenting with Avery films, KPMF and Oracal films and think they all work well. In my opinion its a personal preference. Personally I love working with 3M IJ180 films past and present paired...
  8. 3M 1080 wrap vinyl problems

I've always preferred using the 3M 1080 wrap films over the Avery Supreme Wrapping films - I feel as if the Avery films feel thinner and cheaper but that doesn't stop me from using them. I think the Avery films are easier to work with. From a price stand point Avery is always a winner!
  9. Need Help Recommended premask for wet installaions

I often use 3M dusted crystal film on glass for office applications and more. For the longest time I have used high tack Tru-Stock premask (Grimco's cost effective premask in Canada) but it does not work well with 3M dusted crystal film when a detailed design is involved. I have a lot of...
  10. Need Help Transcluscent 3m vinyl not cutting on my old grc 765 plotter

Had a similar issues when I was running a summa plotter trying to cut 3m dusted crystal film with synthetic liner. A long strip of thin premask did the trick on the back side of the liner in line with where the sensor was.
  11. Roland CutStudio AI Plug-in

With the latest update available for Adobe Illustrator CC (2017 21.1.0) it seems as if the Roland Cut Studio Plug-In option for AI has been removed. I can't even seem to find "Extensions" underneath the Window tab. The plug-in works fine on all other versions. Has anyone experienced this yet...
  12. Need Help Acrylic sign faces going wavy...

I recently did a re-graphic on a 24 foot by 2 foot sign face. After re-installing the sign face with new translucent graphics the client was complaining about the acrylic being to wavy. You can see that the hot and cold temperatures affected the face and it looked worse at times. Whoever...
  13. Laminating Perf Streaks

I commonly experience this effect after installing laminated 3m perf and can't stand the look. It does eventually go away, but takes time depending on sun exposure. It's definitely worth mentioning to the client prior to installation.
  14. Perf install 67 inch wide x 81 tall

I would prefer to go with 2 equally sized panels. Overlap then trim down to create butt seam. I use edge sealer tape most of the time so I would run a strip down the seam
  15. Question Window perf

I like to use edge sealer tape from 3m on all perf jobs. I like to use 3m foam glass cleaner as my final step before graphic application.
