I've got a job coming up where I'll be mounting prints to sintra and the client will be displaying them around the office. I'm not a fan of double sided foam tape as it basically destroys the drywall and leaves behind one hell of a mess. I thought I had found a solution. I believe it's called...
Yes, I know Power Point is not the best program for design but in this case, it's the only thing that is available. Long story short, this company has a German exchange student designing a bunch of stuff for them and all he has is power point. (It's to bad because he's actually a pretty good...
I mounted some prints on sintra for a client a while back. I used super tape to adhere to the wall. You know, the stuff that looks like snot. I've never had a problem with it before. Client just called to complain about the tape ruining the dry wall. So far he has tried heat and fishing...
Thinking of picking up a Graphtec FC8000-130 (54”) plotter and running it with the Cutting master 2 plugin for Illy. It will be used mostly for cut vinyl and print/cut vinyl off my Roland pro III.
Any pros/cons or issues?
Am I in the right section?
Long story short, the 10 yr old pc that runs my plotter has finally died. Need to replace it but started thinking it may be better to upgrade my entire cutting system. I currently have a 30" Graphtec fc5100-75. I'm thinking I may be better off trading or selling...
Not sure if this is the right section but....
I'm pretty sure that I saw on here some time ago that somebody had wrapped a sphere with vinyl. My first thought is to cut the vinyl like the pieces of a basket ball or even a baseball. The question is, is there a formula for figuring out how to...
every now and than Versaworks won't let me open jpeg files. Gives me a "corrupt file" error. It's easily fixed be resaving in a different format but that can be a pain sometimes, especially when dealing with multiple files. I've done some research and I see that other people have this problem...
Nah, not really. But I did get a good chuckle out of this yesterday.
i especially like how he added the line "call now - I'll explain".
sorry about the blurry iphone photo.
Ok, so I installed Versaworks on a new pc running Windows 7. Ran a bunch of posters yesterday and and everything went well. Tried to do a print/cut today and noticed that my little marching ants are missing. I double checked the file just to be sure the cutline is set up properly and resent...

I like keeping busy but man, this is getting outta hand. This is all for a new TV series that's just starting up. It's called Secret Circle and...
We're in the process of getting set up to take credit and debit cards. We've got just about everything in place except one thing. The company we're dealing want to know what our Cancelation/return policy is. In all honesty, we do not have a policy in place. Besides, we've never had anyone...
I have an artist that wants to do this.
Take an image of a very old (public domain) painting. Blow it up and print it on canvas. He then plans to paint over the image and will apply his own "artistic" twist on things. I know the photographer of the image owns the copyright however in this...
I'm having a problem with a certain website not loading properly. It's the jeep.ca site. As soon as I go to the "build your own" page, it comes up with an "un-kown error" message and than a "this session has timed out".
I believe it's a flash based site. I've update everything I can...
I have a client supplied image that I need to break up into individual panels for mounting purposes. The image is scaled down - forgive my terrible math but I think it's scaled to 10%. Anyhoo, I've made my clipping mask 5.8"x4.95" and save as an eps. The final size of the tile needs to be...
As the title suggests, the new Macbook Pro was released today. Some cool new features.
My old macbook has been very good to me but it's got a lot miles on it so it's starting to get fussy. It doesn't help that I've dropped it few times too.
Just ordered me a brand spankin' new 15 inch...
