  1. Just Bought A SC-500

What media are you printing on? I had some of those issues with my Versacamm until i played around with heat and profiles. Try turning up the heat, ensure your media is CLEAN... if you touch it with your finger, it will leave a blotchy spot there when it prints from my experience.
  2. ElevenTen_Color

I switched to eleventen inks in my SP300v last month and havent looked back. I am having a problem with my yellow cartridge, though... i dont know if its the chip or what, but i constantly have to shake it to get my printer to see that there's a cartridge installed. Never had that issue until...
  3. Contour cutting issue

Not sure what program you're using, but try and merge the black outline and the drop shadow so they are one unit... then the contourcut should follow the outside of that one shape instead of the 2 separate ones.

  5. Hp 5500 Designjet Printer

Tell the client all your machines run off of a subterranian river powered hydro, and that your ink is made from the blood of unicorns, and nothing BAD can come from unicorns. :toasting:
  6. Materials won't lay flat

Also i believe the pinch rollers are tapered to one side so as it feeds the media through, it puts tension on the media by pulling it outwards slightly.... if your rollers are worn out, or on backwards, it could have the opposite effect... pinching inward bunching up the media between the...
  7. Wow!

I opened a window and it's livable, but yeah... much stronger than the eco-sol max inks from Roland. Those had an odor to them too, but not quite like this. BUT... for the price you cant beat the Eleven Ten inks. (so far... fingers crossed) Jumped on their website and filled out a form to...

  9. Hello! & Help with sp-300!

Do a head soak in solvant. My NEW black head was doing the same thing and my dealer that put it in refused to answer the phone, and roland was of no help getting anything done... so with jobs to print i used some tricks from these forums to get it going. Using a tek-swab and solvant, i...
  10. SP300V - Installing media profiles

Versaworks pulls cartridge info from the printer... which im guessing pulls the info from the chips on the cartridge... so i cant change that to see if it makes any difference. You are correct, it's CMYK, using Eco-sol Max inks from roland.
  11. SP300V - Installing media profiles

For some reason, no matter what Oracal profile i try to get versaworks to load, it says it contains a profile that uses ink that is not currently installed. I am using Eco-Sol MAX inks... chose that profile from the Oracal website... even tried "OEM" profiles... same thing. I made my own...
  12. Just had it serviced! Now what!

Yeah, it's affecting my prints... Pretty much any spot color that uses black ink has banding. I took the metal media feet off and at the very tip where they curve up, there's hella ink on them. I also "massaged" my new black/cyan print head with a tek-swab with solvent on it... now the nozzles...
  13. Just had it serviced! Now what!

What would the head be striking? Running 2.5 mil vinyl through it only. Could it be hitting the media guide feet? Hrm. I moved the head manually over them and there seems to be tons of clearance...
  14. Just had it serviced! Now what!

They looked fine. He serviced and "recertified" the whole machine...
  15. Just had it serviced! Now what!

Just had Roland out a month ago to replace the black print head, caps, wipers, etc on my SP300V, and already have a nozzle not firing, and another that's deflecting pretty bad. My local dealer isnt so local and they hate answering the phone.. anyone know if there's a warranty on printheads...
  16. SP300V - Black leaving trailouts on solid lines

I was leery of using a swab on my new print heads... I'll try that tonight! Thanks all!
  17. SP300V - Black leaving trailouts on solid lines

Just had a new head installed by a Roland tech... and it's ran fine for a month... now out of the blue im getting trailouts on any black line i print. Looks as if every 10 nozzles or so keep firing for a split second too long as it makes a pass, leaving little fine lines trailing out of any...
  18. To make a long story longer . . .

Have you tried to take it back, or maybe get a professional to help you? *wince* (bad repetition joke)
  19. Need Versaworks PLEASE

Download it from the Roland FTP site.
  20. VersaWorks PMS Problem

I used an Oracal profile specific for the media, ink, and RIP i was using (Flexi) and colors came out HORRIBLE... Switched to versaworks with a silly "generic" profile and it was vibrant and awesome. Export from FlexiSucks as pdf and have Versaworks do the rest
