  1. VW - Printer Controls

Think of it as a reminder, that particular media does not operate the same as the others and needs to be adjusted. -Dana
  2. VW - Printer Controls

Some of our media require specific controls during testing so we add them to the profile. This is not for all of our substrates, just the ones where we notice there might be a problem. If you notice a media where heat settings, feed cal or vacuum power have defaults, its because we noticed...

Roland service policy If you're looking for a word from Roland, We do not have any such policy. There is nothing in writing from Roland, official or unofficial, that states that a customer can get served when its convenient for the dealer based on a contract for supplies. If you're out of...

  7. Anybody doing the Roland Webinars?

We're working with x-rite to re-broadcast part II. The technical glitch was with the visual portion, not the audio. Right now it's availability of instructors and resources. But we'll post it on the webinars page when we schedule a re-broadcast. -Dana

  11. BN 20 6 months in

Sounds like the connection wasn't made properly. The status should be "Ready". Here's a video we made with the RS and GX, but the VersaWorks workflow is the same for the BN-20: http://youtu.be/hZQZl2f8A-0?hd=1 -Dana
  12. BN 20 6 months in

Welder, If you're using VersaWorks, you can load the GX-24 into VersaWorks and use VersaWorks to drive the cutter for print/cut. This way you can leave the BN-20 to print while the GX does the cutting. -Dana
  13. BN-20 now with White Ink

Slight clarification on Bobby's post: Two, 6-month extended warranties for a full year of extended coverage. That gives two years total including the one year factory warranty. -Dana
  14. Using VersaWorks with GS-24, X-3 and XP

You can only use VersaWorks for print/cut with the GX cutters. You can't send cut only files because VersaWorks turns on the optic eye to look for crop marks. But you can print from VersaWorks with a Roland inkjet and contour cut that printed file from VersaWorks with a GX. For cut only...
  15. Printing Help

The printhead touching the paper is a serious problem. that's called a head strike and will definitely lead to dropout. You shouldn't have any heaters or dryers on if you're printing dye sub so make sure the temperatures are shut off in the heater config on the control panel. We have a...
  16. The present Roland Webinar

It depends on the user. We have another webinar coming up on March 20th that addresses only the RVW colors. For anybody wanting to match Pantone colors, x-rite's workflow allows you to directly input customers' files without any modification. This can preserve pre-flighted color spaces and...

  19. GX-640 info please

The factory orientation of the machine is to assume that the roll of media is in the rear. With the front loading box checked, it assumes all media is loaded from the front. This can be confusing to some users because the machine rolls the vinyl in different directions than they might be...
  20. GX-640 info please

Gene, It's a driver setting. There's a checkbox in the driver that says "Front loading" When this box is checked the cutter performs all its functions from the front of the machine. The media loading brackets can be installed on the front of the machine as well. -Dana
