  1. Mutoh vs. PrismJet

We too are in the market for a WF printer. Meeting with our local SBA fella next week and hope to have financing ready to go soon, thanks to the 2009 Recovery Act. We are a small shop in a small market so a purchase like this is a huge deal for us, one that demands a lot of research before...
  2. New to Forum

    Welcome from Mid-America
  3. Font Managers/Organizers

We use The Font Thing: http://members.ozemail.com.au/~scef/ It is old school but works well and is free. Still looking for one that can generate a custom font display sheet.
  4. Corner Cutter

The one we had, briefly, was a tin cigar box with a plastic top and pressed metal handle. Actually it looks like Lassco makes some heavier ones but this is the one we had: http://www.lasscowizer.com/product_details.php?productid=20
  5. Corner Cutter

I'll second on the Accu-Cutter. I looked seemingly forever and finally bought a POS Lassco, then unloaded it on Fleabay. It was a cheap piece of junk, well it wasn't cheap in cost >$150, but in construction. The Accu-Cutter we got was this one: http://www.accucutter.com/Cmate%20040.htm It is...
  6. computer running slow

Glad to hear it came back. Let us know if you have more problems. And as Day Sign said, 2000 is good, ME is evil. 2nd worst OS Microsoft every foisted on us.
  7. computer running slow

Above still applies. Just see what is hogging your CPU.
  8. computer running slow

I'm gonna assume you have a PC running XP. When the PC is dragging, do a 3 finger salute (Hold down Ctrl-Alt-Del) to open the task manager. Click the CPU header twice to sort by CPU usage. See what's hogging your resources. Post back with your results for additional help.
  9. Windows 7

You have to login (Most just use their hotmail login) You can then get your activation key and then you get to wait for the teeny, tiny 2.7GB ISO download (Ouch) Be advised you will have to be able to burn a DVD ISO onto a blank DVD for the install.
  10. Windows 7

I've been using GUI's since GEOS on the C64 and MS products since Windoze 3.1. > 3.1 was cool because it was new. > Windows 95 was the pretty good. > Windows 98 was better. > WindowsMe was the 2nd worst consumer OS every released by MS (If you don't count Bob). > Windows XP was, and still is...
  11. Vinyl Keeps Feeding on Startup

Been there, done that. Set back to Roll instead of Sheet. First time it happened I was like WTF as many feet of material spewed out onto the floor.
  12. Boot issues!!!!! Please help!!!!!!

Glad you got your problem fixed. Now, make good use of that 2nd hard drive. I have performed the install of Second Copy ( http://www.centered.com/ ) literallly 100's of times and it works perfectly. The company that makes it has been around for 20 years. There may be a freeware program that...
  13. ...thinking about jumping in

Very well put. When I started my first business one of the primary reasons was I was sick and tired of watching facemen with good hair taking home twice what I did when I was doing all the work.
  14. Computer Specs?

These days you will want at least a dual-core processor. No Celerons or Semprons. The workstation I use everyday runs XP Pro on a 6000+ Dual Core AMD with 4Gb of DDR2 RAM. It runs all the design and production software with lightning speed and also performs the bulk of our video production...
  15. Small spring

I recently dropped the same type of spring on dark grey/brown commercial carpet. It was a friggin nightmare finding it since they are so tiny and blended in with the carpet. Two tricks can help find small parts on floors though. The first was already mentioned, with a magnet. I have 4...
  16. Just wanted to say hi

    Welcome
  17. Whoa!!! e-mail Graphtec about 64 bit driver support and just see what happens!

The problem is people are ordering machines with more that 4Gb of memory. Since XP and Vista 32 can really only access 3.5Gb they get stuck with 64-bit Vista, which is a travesty. The worst part is most of them don't even know it until it is too late. Vista in any flavor is a disaster, but...
  18. Boot issues!!!!! Please help!!!!!!

Many *retail* hard drives come with transfer software in the box. The *OEM* bare drive you buy from NewEgg will not, however you can get it from the drive manufacturers web site. This is not *image* software but rather file copy software that will copy everything from your existing drive to the...
  19. Weird computer problems - help please!

No matter what you are told this is the deal, once a system has been compromised you can never trust it again. I abhor Geek Squad and similar services. Not to be blunt but a vast majority of the people that end up working there are teenagers with limited skills and some older, lower skilled...
  20. Looking for a Laptop

"Why couldn't you install XP on the Vista book?" Would have except there are no XP drivers for the sound. So he would have a brand new machine with no sound. "If you have an 8gig using vista and go to xp... only 4 will be recognized." Yes. XP 32-bit and Vista 32-bit will both...
