  1. What the Deuce? Blob cause?

Twice now a few days apart I have saw this on prints. One was on the left side of the print and the other on the right. Ideas? The actual blob is about 1/2 x 1/4. .
  2. Thinking of puchase of Mutoh

We just bought a VJ-1304. Feller's is selling them for $14K here http://fellers.com/pdfs/Mutoh1304Special.pdf , installed and trained. This was a couple thousand lower than any other bid we got, considering what we received. Have been very happy with Feller's as well as Mutoh CS when we had...
  3. Best way to put Mutoh to sleep overnight

They had my machine set to clean every two hours. It used 30% of the carts over the weekend. It is now set to 12 hour clean and sounds like I could safely even up that time. I had an extensive conversation with a senior Mutoh tech yesterday and he said the 1304 is good about not losing...
  4. Recommended Mutoh cleaning interval when sleeping

On our 1304 I checked the ink level via the readout on Friday at 6:00PM when I put the machine in standby. The ink levels were: 72/69/59/62 As of 8:00AM this morning the levels were: 47/44/34/37 and the waste tank is about 1/2" fuller than Friday when I left. OUCH!! The installer had...
  5. Looking for PD photos to WOW customers

Outstanding, thanks for the heads up on this program. Looks very promising indeed. Downloading now.
  6. Looking for PD photos to WOW customers

Ohh nice. Will print some of these babies tomorrow. http://hubblesite.org/gallery/album/entire/npp/128/ Looks like some are as high as 29566x14321px @ .5Gb
  7. Looking for PD photos to WOW customers

Thanks for all the replies. "You don't need anything higher than 100 ppi if you're gonna print something at 54" and see it from say 5-8 ft." I agree, the ones I've printed look pretty good, just wanted a few that can show the full potential of the machine at close range. I think NASA and JPL...
  8. Looking for PD photos to WOW customers

Im not really into paying for photos but I'm gonna try the free ones, thanks again.
  9. Looking for PD photos to WOW customers

Thanks for the quick repsonse. I'd looked through a couple of those sites earlier and never really found anything that was hi-res. Most were about what I could take with my own camera which looks good up to about 36" but starts falling apart after that.
  10. Looking for PD photos to WOW customers

Hey, The Mutoh is running well and I'm looking for some public domain hi-res source material to print for wall decorations to show the true potential of the machine. The tech who trained me left me with some decent photos but they are only 72 DPI far, far below the capacity of the...
  11. Best way to put Mutoh to sleep overnight

VJ-1304 What is the best strategy to put it to bed when leaving it overnight? Is it best to remove the media and leave the pressure roller arm in the up position or to leave some media in with the arm in the down position? Also, is there a way to get it to sleep right away? What I...
  12. Vista 64-bit....

I would recommend Win7 as well. If you want run hassle free use 32bit. If you have time to dick around with compatibility issues you can try 64bit. The minimal benefits of 64bit are just not worth it for me. I just preordered another 12 copies of Win7 (from 4 different vendors). All were...
  13. Estimate Software

We got a copy of Estimate with our cutter years ago. Installed it and never used it. Recently decided to give it another try. Because of the convoluted registration/serial number they have on the software had to call the company to get it installed. They were helpful, but still a pain in my...
  14. Gerber has arrived!

Congrats on your new machine. I actually looked at that machine before we bought the 1304. I decided against it but I may have missed the boat. What can it do differently than a WF printer?
  15. Questions for those with CE5000-60

Very happy with our Graphtec. It will do 8 foot runs all day long with accuracy that boggles my mind. I mean, it starts cutting, goes 20 some inches to the right, then rolls out 8 feet of material, then 20 some inches to the left, than all the way back and it lines up perfectly. I find that...
  16. Mutoh VJ 1614 - Vertical Banding - Dealer No Help

I looks to me like you have been very patient and through. SW has apparently given up so you should pursue the issue directly with the manufacturer, which you are now doing. Since Mutoh makes such a big deal about no banding in their ads I would think you have a valid complaint. I...
  17. There here....

I swear she is whispering to me now. I named her Rachel. Her coming out party is in 9 days.
  18. There here....

Waiting the 2 weeks sucks and I could fire it up myself, however by letting them take care of it “cradle to grave” so to speak the full responsibility then sits in their lap, so I’ll wait. In as far as getting caught up, little shop here so that is not an issue. I do actually have one customer...
  19. Wow, thank god for insurance

I just went to the insurance office yesterday adding coverage for the 1304. We were discussing replacement cost then.
  20. There here....

Yes in 2 WEEKS though they are coming for install/training. I have it all mounted on the stand and ready to go. They say this is the busiest they have ever been training wise. AAMOF the printer shipped directly from Mutoh because the vendor had no stock to ship. I imagine selling the...
