Does anyone know the name of this font? All I have is vector art from files provided by the customer but he wishes to know the font name so he can purchase it for other uses. The design firm who did the original work is out of business and he's tried unsuccessfully to get any more files than...
You are certainly not alone Pat.
I think something that happens from time to time is that some customers don't buy signs regularly, some never have until now, and they have no idea if they've gotten their money's worth or not. Signs are not like widgets that are all exactly alike, made by the...
I have found that similar striping from my printer (HP8000) has been caused by media advance problems. Light stripes or banding, means the media is advancing too far between passes leaving to much space between over laps thus less laying down less ink and dark stripes or banding, means the media...
I have to like what goes out the door or I'm not satisfied. Often I spend more design time than the customer is paying for. But I like to think going the extra mile is what brings customers coming back. And I know it's what keeps me loving what I do.
Check out "Simon's Pie Charts" and "Overdue Account" on that site. Hilarious! Like signgal says, what a great way to waste an afternoon. Tons of real funny stuff.
Pat, I like that corner thing you're doing. I'm starting that on my next banner.
Gino's right about which way it's facing. In my part of the world, the Northern Hemisphere, the sun is always in the Southern sky. Anything, sign or otherwise facing South is going to take the harshest beating...
I'm with old paint. Roll the sign white. Pounce a pattern on. Paint the read around the lettering staying back off the line just a bit. Then outline in black. Hand letter the web address and the yellow "1945" bit.
I wouldn't be doing it on this sign since I'm not painting white over anything...
On an HP 8000 I had the "media jam" error and I messed with it for probably 45 minutes until I walked to the back of the printer and found that my helper hastily loaded the media and it was not squarely in the rollers and was causing tension from there.
Did I mention that my helper was me...
sjm I, for one, would love to hear you discuss anything. All you do is jump into a valid thread with one-liners that are the teenage equivalent of, "That's stupid." How about we hear a little bit of what you know rather than simply calling other people's knowledge foolish? Really, share your...
That choked me up even though you qualified it first that she is ok. Praise God for a wonderful ending to a tragic story.
The white ghost. I don't know what to say about that. But coming from such a young child it's hardly something she made up. That thought is sticking with me.
Mainframe: One would have to look far and wide for someone to have covered everything you did and to say it any better. Punctuated by Gino's comment I'd think the issue is closed.
Fred: Would it make sense to move this into the premium section considering all the pricing that's been mentioned?
We do one-color vinyl, 5-minute layout, rounded corners for $115. Most go for around $160 with with some design and color printed.
Up sell is the key. We start out by saying one-color is the cheapest, (not less expensive... the cheapest). It seems most people don't want the "cheapest" so opt...
Biggest hint would be to talk him out of it.
Regarding wind slits we first have to discern the reason for them. We all assume that the slits will give stress relief by allowing the wind to pass through the banner putting less stress on the material and it's anchoring method.
So how much...
I think some are confusing standing pat for ones own beliefs as censoring the beliefs of others. I wouldn't turn down printing pro-abortion stuff on the grounds that they shouldn't think like that. I'd turn it down on the grounds that I don't wish to play a part in helping to promote that...
