  1. Light Bulb vs Litebulb

If only Shelby Electric made LED's, then our great grand kids could tell us if they last longer than proper bulbs. The little fellow up above is a pretty accurate rendition of the colour qualities of many LEDs these days.

  5. Question but i'd hoped to spend MORE...

I think you are possibly looking for a Precision Universal Bevel Vernier Protractor. Not digital, but very precise, recalibratable and comes from Starrett. And rather expensive.
  6. New monitor, Any Recommendations?

Looks like a beast, though on the Dell site, the woman using it is definately suffering from severe neck ache.
  7. New monitor, Any Recommendations?

Depends whether you are running in a colour managed environment (or plan to be). I've been a long time user of Eizo coloredge screens. About as good as you can get without going into silly money. Allows me to see with reasonable certainty what print output will look like, but even these fall...
  8. Cutting Mats

For the last eight years I've been using light grey (light green) HDPE 8x4 sheets, new ones every few years. 5mm and 3mm, with the rolling benches 10mm lower than the out table of the laminator, so a 2mm drop. When brand new, laminates grip it like crazy, but after a month they're lightly...
  9. ISO 13-inch color printer for posters, 100-200 a week

Yep, P700 is a toy, and ink costs would kill you. P5000 is Epson's small big printer, and designed for 100 prints per week. I don't believe that Canon make a small big printer that will handle cust sheet well. Ink cart size is usually an indicator of production volume.
  10. Adobe update won't let me use Cutting Master 4

From the creative cloud application, you can also download older versions, as well as the current one.
  11. Time machine

So no lottery results. Glad it's not just me - was starting to wonder about any and everything I thought I knew about time zones.
  12. Time machine

Not quite sure how I feel about reading tomorrow's posts*. *Though I'll accept lottery results

  14. How to Enlarge shutterstock images for large wall murals

Superzoom in the latest Photoshop (filters>neural filters) does an imorally good job, though it is very CPU/GPU intensive. Whether it'll go to to twenty foot depends on viewing distance, file format (hopefuilly a 4MB jpeg), and quality threshold. Kepler has some nice images, as does Hubble, and...
  15. Best Printer for giclee prints

    1. The P800 is a 17" consumer printer. 2. Epson aqueuous printers get the best results from using Epson's own pigment inks. 3. Giclee is a meaningless marketing term, gernerally understood to mean pigment print onto an acid free paper. It is an inkjet print using pigment inks (and I charge an...
  16. I identify as...

Ah, Parliament Squareabout. Never sure about the e in Squareabout, until you write it without, when you get a squarabout, which is definitely wrong. Also very dull. Much like Parliament.
  17. I identify as...

Call that a roundabout. This is a magic roundabout. https://www.shutterstock.com/video/clip-1015415851-hemel-hempstead-magic-roundabout-overhead-drone The old Kodak UK production facility overlooked it.
  18. How to calculate cutting vinyl time and price ??

Over in my small town, there are big players, corporates, midsize companies, small fish, m&p's, the whole range. Those big big fish, the ones that have to keep moving, they can be fun to work with, but as the joke goes, why are lawyers safe to swim in shark infested waters? Professional...
  19. How to calculate cutting vinyl time and price ??

My local independent garage does that - they never need to advertise, have repeat customers, and new business from word of mouth. That $30 pretty much guarantees repeat business from someone who is now a walking talking Stacey fan.
  20. Do you wear gloves while applying vinyl?

I weed with tweezers. Each time I stab myself with them, I get two cuts for the price of one. For cutting, a tray of scalpels (they don't roll), and I can change blades (well, pick up a new scalpel) faster than I can snap off a blade. I've not been able to feel the same precision with a snap...
