As you say, once you log in... Thanks.
  3. Help with Cutting Master 4 and SAi !!

Glad you've still got Catalina. Just looked in CM4 64>plug-in, and it goes up to CC 2020. I've got CC21 illustrator - that might be a problem waiting to be updated. ATM I'm just looking at M1 macs as a future upgrade, so I can wait, but the time will come when I'll have to change. Shame, as the...
  4. Help with Cutting Master 4 and SAi !!

Who ever would have thought that Apple would suddenly go 64bit only. Noit like they gave any advance warning. Is this only affecting CM4, or all the SAi cloudy "goodness"?
  5. Viable laminator sled ideas?

We've got a load of sizes of dibond that we use for laminating. When the release film is on, it allows you to tack the front edge of the laminate in place, then remove the laminated printed print. Without the protective film, the laminate takes slightly more time to remove. Just did 40 24x36...
  6. Boxes...

Local bike shops can be a really good source of high quality bike shaped boxen - good for sending out similar shaped items (just tell the client you're being green)
  7. Help with Cutting Master 4 and SAi !!

Only tried for half an hour with big sur, seeing whether it would play nicely with the new M1 chips, and was trying to get it to work with CM4. I'll try again at somepoint, when work settles down. I have an account, but it didn't like it. Made a new one under another email address, didn't like...
  8. Help with Cutting Master 4 and SAi !!

I tried a few days ago - thought I'd see what an M1 MBP felt like. I Failed. Plugged the 6000 back into an 11 year-old tower running High Sierra*. All good. *EFI would like over £1000 to upgrade to a newer OS for our 44" Canon *xRite would like almost £3000 to upgrade to latest version of...
  9. Best Way to Cut Down 4x8 Sheets of Foam Core?

Down side of the Javelin is when you want to cut an 8x4 down to a 4x4 - need really long arms. Also it doen't have the inbuilt squaring of the steeltrak, but it is really high precision cutting. I reckon that I can get within 1mm on the steeltrak, half that on the bench cutter (have Very picky...
  10. Best Way to Cut Down 4x8 Sheets of Foam Core?

As an interim I'd go for the SteelTrak 250, with some spare production stops and a left hand extension. Fast quick (ish) and clean, with a relatively small footprint. Gives you the option of cutting other materials like PVC, without generating dust. Once volume of work picks up, then a flatbed...
  11. Question Keencut

Yep, a Stanley/utility blade isn't right on the cutting bar, Rotatrim or scalpel for thin paper stock, even with a cutting mat under the blade. I'd love a foot pedal option for the cutting table, or just one of the new models with the one sided lift and hover. But, I can accurately take less...
  12. Question Keencut

If you're cutting anything thicker than a 16th, then yes. Clean square edged cuts. I inherited a 1600mm big bench with an original Javelin Cutter, when I joined our company. Great for PVC and foam board, and at a push, have used it to cut Dibond (bought a Steeltrack for better productivity)...
  13. Discussion How do you handle this type of deal?

March last year, just after UK went into the first lockdown, I helped the building (11 floors) we're based in work out and install the covid safety plan. Directional signs, distancing markers, stairwell directions, perspex screen for the reception etc. In return I got a key to the service yard...
  14. Just In So, does this look kosher....................................... ??

Check out why he wrote ABHoT. He knew fate was not smiling on him physiologically, so he started making financial plans in his twenties. Hero, legend, genius.
  15. Hello from sunny Brixton , London

Thank you, and I hope that you get some R&R
  16. Just In So, does this look kosher....................................... ??

Damned internet inflections. Grew up in Cambridge, only once met SH once, while working in a camera store as a kid (late 80's). 30 seconds after he arrived at the counter, he asked me what the differnce was between the Leica 10x30 and the zeiss (recurring theme in my life) 10x30 binoculars...
  17. Just In So, does this look kosher....................................... ??

Well thank you. After long days, the mental anaesthetic kicks in, and the thought speech typing subtly slows to a Stephen Hawking pace.
  18. Hello from sunny Brixton , London

Well thank you, and I'll try my best to avoid tripping the autobot switch. Really looking forward to the middle of next week, to shut up shop after what feels like a marathon year. First exhibition is booked for January 15th, a new outdoor photographic gallery with a dozen 60x40 frames to...
  19. Just In So, does this look kosher....................................... ??

Without googling you, I'd say no. Almost certianly a scam (but IANAL...) Edit. They almost certainly have well trianed bots / personnel checking the registrars, then contacting the most likely conflicts/marks. Most refernce .cn
  20. Hello from sunny Brixton , London

Hello. I've spent far too much time reading here, all of it more or less mostly useful, sometimes highly vauable, and occasionally priceless. And I'm the one man production unit of a photographic centre in London. My work crosses between high end printing - photographic exhibitions for a few...
