  5. Help Choosing a Cutter

That's exactly what this is. The best advice I can give you is to stick with one of the big names that keeps coming up; Graphtec, Roland, Summa. When this question is asked, you'll always find old timers and experienced people arguing about which one is the best, but they're never arguing...
  6. art clean up question

I once had a job where I had to re-draw three logos for a company in town because the vector files were nowhere to be found. I redrew them to make my job easier by having quality artwork. They called me later to see if I would send the files to the guy who publishes the local house hunter type...

  18. Photoshop/Illustrator Question

Use the background eraser tool to get rid of the white background, then save as a transparent .psd. Place in illustrator, and all you should see is the item without it's background. psd files print better, I've also found out.
  19. Anyone recognize this font?

Not an exact match, but pretty close. http://www.dafont.com/font.php?file=desigers&page=1&nb_ppp_old=50&text=Walking+By+Faith&nb_ppp=50&psize=m&classt=alpha I'm sure I have that font on my machine at home, too. I think it's got 'disney' in the name.
