  1. Grimco Briteline on L260?

Have not used Grimco branded cling media, but have used General Formulations brand clear static cling with the Latex 260. Worked very well.
  2. HP Designjet 5500ps UV

I have no experience with 3rd-party bulk inks on the Designjet 5000 machines, but at the end of the proverbial day, inkjet printing always comes down to the specific chemistry between the inkset and media where the ink is going. If you are using a media that is known to work with the HP UV or...
  3. HP Designjet 5500ps UV

I haven't run one in years now, but at one point, years ago I supported a fleet of them. I'd be happy to try to help. Feel free to PM me, or post your question publicly. The DesignJet 5000 Series was revolutionary for it's day.
  4. Cutting Master Pro in Illustrator 2015

Cutting Master 2 & 3 is working with Illustrator CC 2015 on the Mac platform, but there are issues with the CM installer on Windows. Graphtec is fervently working on a solution, and it should be forthcoming shortly.
  5. HP L25500 questions

You're drilling through the menus on the printer's control panel: Ink Menu > Image Quality Maintenance > Inter-Pass Delay Offset > Up/ down > Enter to set? That has worked on every L25 that I have seen since this function was introduced via FW update, sometime in 2013 as I recall.
  6. HP L25500 questions

If you set the value while there is no media loaded, and retain it when loading, it will allow up to 1.5 seconds (1500ms) on the Inter-Pass Delay Value. When unloading, also be sure to retain the value if desired, or it will revert to 0.
  7. HP L25500 questions

You should be able to modify the Inter-Pass Delay on the L25500 as long as you have current firmware (7.0.0.4). For SAV media the longest Inter-Pass value allowed is 1500ms. Other media types have different maximum values.
  8. Coalescence Issue on HP 330 with Smooth Vinyl Wallcoverings

It almost appears that the media is covered by plasticizers or other contaminants. As a test, have you attempted to clean an area that prints poorly with a liberal amount of Isopropyl Alcohol and a non-shedding cloth? Other PVC media, most notably PVC banner contain these plasticizers that...
  9. Coalescence Issue on HP 330 with Smooth Vinyl Wallcoverings

Yikes, those last two images look like a chemistry problem to me. The only time I've seen anything like that is from folks running 3rd-party inks (non OEM latex ink). From the images you are showing, it appears to be a chemistry (ink-media) issue with these medias. As I mentioned, I have run...
  10. Coalescence Issue on HP 330 with Smooth Vinyl Wallcoverings

It would probably help a great deal if you would post an image that illustrates the issue. Coalescence has been an issue with HP Latex inks, but much less with the 300 series versus the previous models. I have used several Dreamscape wallcovering medias, though not the one you are referencing...
  11. New 360 coming... now I have cold feet

The other thing to keep in mind with heater systems is that the maximum amount of energy is used while the heaters are energizing to get to the requisite temperature. Maintaining temperatures at a fixed temp does not require as much energy. One of the biggest improvements with the Latex 300...
  12. HP L26500 leaking cyan ink

Based on where the ink is leaking, I would look at the coupling between the ink line and the carriage. I would also say that it is probably a good idea to get HP service involved (800) 334-5144, based on the amount of ink that is leaking. The ink train is pressurized so any small leak will...
  13. Grey Wrap has turned Purple

While it is possible to modify the Total Ink Limit in a Versaworks media profile (or any RIP for that matter) is is not advisable from a color perspective, unless a new ICC Profile, based on a newly printed chart is then regenerated after making the change to the Total Ink Limit. Making changes...
  14. Grey Wrap has turned Purple

To some extent I would agree with this. However, every media has a maximum amount of ink load that it can accommodate. Going beyond that point will not increase the resulting longevity of the ink. The problem is that most colors are produced using less ink than the maximum. The ink load is...
  15. New 360 coming... now I have cold feet

The Latex 300 Series machines are inherently different from halftone printers like the various models of Roland, Mimaki, and Mutoh. As such, the Latex 300s are able to use a common and standard media profile using a file format called OMS files. This makes the printer more responsible for...
  16. Grey Wrap has turned Purple

Different colors of inks will deteriorate over time due to UV exposure. In this case (Epson GS6000) I would guess that the Yellow ink has degraded before the other colors. Over the years, I have heard that the GS6000 OEM Yellow is prone to premature degradation.
  17. Flexi RIP color help

The images posted by the OP appear to show coalescence in the ink. In the L2 series machines (L25 and L26), the biggest cause of this artifact is the incomplete evacuation of the ink's base (water) in the print zone. This causes the ink drops to merge and cause this artifact. Solutions to...
  18. print sticking on take up - Any thoughts??

Solvent ink dries through an evaporation process that is aided by heat and airflow, so your options are to: 1. Decrease the amount of fluid that is being laid down (reduce total ink) 2. Increase the amount of heat and airflow 3. Increase the time that the media spends on the heaters and...
  19. Do Spectrometers Have A Limited Life?

The i1 (sometimes called EyeOne) product family has included a wide variety of instruments and software that has been packaged in various ways over the past dozen years or so. i1 Display is for emissive measurements only (displays and projectors) i1 Pro is capable of emissive and reflective...
  20. Graphtec vs Vinyl Express Q54

Sign Warehouse has OEM'd Graphtec FC-Series cutting plotters for many years. The fact is that the Q-Series are identical hardware devices as the Graphtec FC Series machines, media baskets notwithstanding. They are not the same in all respects however. First and foremost, the Q-Series are sold...
