We don't use much Correx but the stuff we do use is always 2440 x 1220mm dead. Out of size, out of square substrates or sheet materials with undulating thicknesses are usually down to your supplier thinking they can make an extra buck or two by buying straight from China or India... cheapest...
Erm, do you know how much vinyl actually costs? The paint cost vs the vinyl cost is about equal... the only thing you've managed to do is spent twice as long farting about with your paint.... in vinyl the whole job from start to finish.... it's about two hours tops.
As for the trailers..... two...
I remember seeing those Brass plaques in a fire brigade museum as a kid.... talk about a trip down memory lane. I thought the "pay to extinguish" model of fire fighting died with Queen Victoria but clearly Dickensian values are still very much alive and kicking out in the colonies :)
If...
All very interesting but doesn't it miss one important point; the complete lack of respect for Anglo Saxon culture?
Anglo Saxon culture is equal in stature to Middle Eastern, Asian or South Asian cultures. By this I mean that Anglo Saxons have as much right to expect their cultural wishes to be...
How was this fabricated aluminium sign painted?
Vinyl should stick to painted aluminium like $hit to a blanket. If it's not doing so then I'd be worried about a duff paint job.... if you don't use the right primers you can peel paint of mill finish aluminium in sheets.
Can't help much with the current problem BUT.... in future I strongly recommend that you only use a credit card to by stuff mail order.
Here in the UK you receive what is called Section 73 protection..... when a company takes your money and fails to deliver your credit card company reimburse...
The sign industry has seen the barriers to entry systematically removed, this has caused immeasurable damage to the profitability of shops and the amounts of profit which are available for rewarding staff.
A constant churn of new operators and operators who've tried and failed creates a process...
If you ain't got the working capital to run your business why should your supplier gift you an interest free overdraft to bridge the gap between what you want to do and what you can afford to do?
We used to spec our panel vans with a fully decked roof platform and a little ladder bolted onto the back door... pretty cheap, easy to move :) and ready to use as soon as you hit site.
Dude, it's only a small DIY syringe of two part epoxy resin...
When using two part epoxies or methylmetacrylates you want the structural versions.... the liquid nails product you are so pleased about isn't one of them.
When using either of these two part adhesives the secret is all in the prep...
What kind of mounting adhesive?
Do you wipe the Dibond with IPA before applying adhesive?
Where are the finished panels used? Inside or out?
Why paper? Paper has no "give".... whilst Dibond is pretty dimensionally stable it will still expand & contract albeit very slightly.
Using paper...
No, no, no...
If you are determined to "do" electrical work then at least invest in the right equipment.... a digital multi meter will tell you if power is still connected.... it'll even tell us the precise voltage and alert you to the fact that a circuit is grounded somewhere.
NEVER touch any...
You cannot moan and whine about how hacks and lowballers undermining your business if in the next breath you start moaning about how electrical sign work requires you to meet various codes and regulations.
Electrical sign work is one area of the trade which is still worth something, you can...
Gino's post makes for interesting reading...
Basically you've got to prove that A) you know what you're doing B) that your insurance policy will cover you for electrical work C) that you've read and fully understood the fire regulations.
Sounds pretty reasonable to me.... if you needed the...
How can you stretch a building? The problem here is not wall colour, lighting or ventilation.... it's a basic physics problem..... a pint will not fit into a half pint glass no matter what.
Gino and Tech have alluded to the problem.... even if you could get all that cr@p squashed in the space...
1200 sq ft...... you haven't got a hope in hell.
Once you've crammed all that junk in your shop you won't be able to swing a cat.... unless your boss can pony up for a proper sized building he's wasted a boat load of money on machinery he can't use.
What exactly DO you get in return for all this tax?
I hate handing over my money to Her Majesties Revenue and Customs but at least I can see the benefits of paying tax all around me? Where does ALL your money go? Who gets it?
From an outside perspective it looks very much the case that the...
