Getting better! The phone number needs to be more pronounced and the cheesy clip art is questionable however it is a vast improvement over your last rendering.
  2. Caldera or Onyx RIP?

Sigh... If you bothered to read my posts in their entirety you would see the core of my point being I haven't used Caldera and haven't had a need since Onyx does everything I need it to do and then some... No one ever said or implied you need to know me. I simply stated do not come on here...
  3. Caldera or Onyx RIP?

These could be valid points, I don't know "Ernst" and I generally have respect for colleagues in the industry. However for a person who doesn't know me or my business to come across and say they are somehow "better" really ignites a spark in me. For a so called "Superstar" to use junk machines...
  4. Caldera or Onyx RIP?

So what you are saying is your ten Volkswagen's are far superior to my one Ferrari 458? Quite frankly I don't wish to deal with the networking headaches of running multiple low end machines trying to talk correctly with one another. I can only imagine the failure rates of "costco" value...
  5. CET = Handtop = CET??

Our new CET is a beast. The new 60 series high adhesion inks are everything they are supposed to be. Granted I haven't had ample time to give a full review but with what I have seen i'm impressed. We were able to print to a customers proprietary fabric that no other printer we found could...
  6. Caldera or Onyx RIP?

My vote is for Onyx Thrive. The adobe RIP engine is absolutely superior. I built a custom i7 rig dedicated to Onyx running windows 7. I have 5 Solid state drives, one dedicated to onyx and the OS and then a drive for each printer. Pair that with 32 gig of stupid fast RAM and we have a beast...

If you are asking for a critique I would honestly have to say you might want to consider starting over. The red is WAY too over saturated and there are no tones to break it up. You need to make it appealing to the eye not give someone eye strain.
  8. What to charge for flatbed cutting?

Oh trust me I appreciate the help! My issue is; Let's say a guy walks in my shop and wants his company logo and text printed to pvc and routed. Of course he doesn't have vector art and "isn't sure" what all information he wants on it. He has a ballpark size he wants but no specifics. All...
  9. What to charge for flatbed cutting?

The more I look at that software the more I like it. It seems like it could save me some serious time. Hrmmmm....
  10. What to charge for flatbed cutting?

We don't operate like that. We draw the artwork in illustrator to customers spec, print to flatbed printer, then route. We design the artwork with a spot layer for our cuts and only use the cutting software to select tools, initiate cutting/routing, etc. The example you showed looks like a...
  11. What to charge for flatbed cutting?

Thanks for the response. I have thought about this but see a problem with it. In order to quote a job I would have to have one of my designers set up the cuts/design which is allot of work for a quote on a job I may or may not get. How do you approach that aspect?
  12. What to charge for flatbed cutting?

Well our Summa F1612 Flatbed cutter is installed and up and running. So far I am very impressed with the machine (we did get the router option as well). My concern now is I don't have any clue how to set up a pricing schedule for it. I know what to charge for the substrates I cut but I didn't...
  13. Edge Lit acrylic sign vendor

I can do this no sweat as well. However the shipping may not be very cost effective....
  14. Ordered a signburst inferno with upgrades

Well said. I can appreciate folks wanting support and by you coming on the forums sand stating you will provide that support is a good thing. I guess it comes down to how computer savvy a business owner is. If you are well versed in machine building you can definitely do better building your...
  15. CET = Handtop = CET??

I have a 4'x8' Q500 being installed in the am. I went with high adhesion + white with the new heads. Kind of shocked it is a 5 day training as we just installed a new Flatbed cutter/router that is infinitely more complex and training was only 3 days on that. I'll report back with my thoughts.
  16. Ordered a signburst inferno with upgrades

I see absolutely nothing special about these rigs. They are a boutique pc builder who found a niche in catering to designers. I'm not trying to put them down by any means but this is typical in the PC custom rig world. For $2,500 you can go to newegg.com and build a machine with Raid-0 SSD...
  17. Questions on 11880

Hello all, I have an Epson 11880 that has been a workhorse for the past few years. Unfortunately the mainboard has been failing and the cost for replacement is too high to justify when I can buy a Canon at dealer cost. My question is that the printheads are still perfect and I would like to...

Greetings from Akron Ohio, We are currently seeking a graphic designer to join our team. We print with a CET UV flatbed, multiple Epson and Canon wide format machines, as well as have a Summa Flatbed cutter/router. This is a full time position m-f 8-5. We operate out of a completely...
