  1. Wrap a RC Truck

Typical wrap film. I wouldnt use a torch though. I suggest heat gun. And no matter how good you install it, the wrap never holds the body shape. I tried using 180cv3 with no real luck.
  2. Looking for camouflage pattern

    They also have cast 3m
  3. 3m 8518

I checked old vs new. Old carrier is .003" or 3 thousandths of an inch. New carrier is .001 or 1 thousandths of an inch. If they can reduce cost that way then pass the savings on to us the graphic companies instead of raising prices each year!
  4. Best way to remove adhesive from emblems

MBX electric all the way. They are well worth the $500 they cost. Saves a ton of time and I dont think you would be able to get the wheel portion to mate to a drill. The mbx air tool is ok but when you are on location who has air avaliable?
  5. Fix large bubbles

As a last ditch effort (I mean LAST). You could super glue that area. This would be a fine line and must be approved by the customer. OR........the best solution Rip it off and start over. You had already primed it and stretched it into the groove. Once it lifted the posibility of it...
  6. Door Handle Removal

I never went to school to become a mechanic/auto body guy nor do I want to be one. I can wrap and trim out door handles faster than removing them. Its like the whole helmet debate. I can wrap one, but for pennies. Ill wrap a vehicle and make dollars. I had a Lexus es 350 I wrapped once and...

At the end of the day all Tebow does is WINS! How does that song go? He's got the whole world in his hands........ :ROFLMAO:

Oh Believe me 180c would be sweet. But they cannot justify crushing a car after 1 year with that much money into the wraps! Ive laid thousands of miles of vinyl and when this came up I laughed them right out the door. My reaction was NO Way! You want cheap I can sell you duct tape and knock...
  10. Recommendations

Need some input. Have to fully wrap some cars this month. Midsize sedans. Nothing curvy like an HHR or Beetle. I need a printable vinyl that is 54" or 60" wide. Something that will last for up to 1 calender year. Customer doesn't need laminate. They will crush the car when done with project...
  11. I could be wrong.. But

I have some friends that own Ford dealerships and asked them about the graphics and what the response has been. Both dealerships said it didnt take off like they were told it was going to. Also as a kick in the crotch to all of us, one dealer said:"Our shop guys have a hard time putting on the...
  12. How to charge for matte wrap?

Matte wraps are a pita. ANY spec of dirt, and that means any is a mountain under the wrap. I quote them higher than a normal wrap because it takes a bit longer to do. And the clients who want them are a pita also and will go over the vehicle with a fine tooth comb. Did a matte black for a client...
  13. 3M has a economy 3 year film out now

164' roll? Well that makes pairing it with laminate a bad fit.
  14. 3m r221

I wish you the best of luck with removal. I had to remove a wrap on a dodge 3500 van one time that was parked next to a dumpster that caught on fire. Every inch of vinyl was scorched. Last ditch effort we used a eraser wheel to remove it. Burned through 5 wheels and 2 solid days.
  15. What went wrong !

Picture 2 is clear as day. Don't use water to do the application!
  16. Hey Betsy from 3M!

Merritt: You and your company probably will see no effect with this merger at all, but if you were a shop owner you may think very differently. I for one can say this statement holds true for most on this site. I had an authorized 3M converter of materials send me this news. It came to my...

  18. How much for that wrap?!?!?

Prowraps is spot on. You wanted to ask about the price and found out there are people who do it cheaper and still make money. If you can't hang a 54" x 108" panel in 13 minutes then step it up. That is a fast pace to some but not the experienced. I crank out those size panels (applying) in...
  19. Race Car, my first wrap with my own machine!

Fyi You may want to look at this company for TM infringement. www.competitiongraphics.com Just a heads up. Car looks good!
