  1. Stupid Question

I always stand mine on end and unwind it (enough where each layer can breathe) for a day then stick a tube in and hold the begging end against the tube and pull out over and over til its tight again before I lam. Not sure if that makes any sense but that's what I do
  2. I'm done with Signwarehouse

I wish I had a place to view how my customers felt about my practices. Referrals are more valuable than any other form of advertizing in every way. Keeping customers happy keeps a heavy workload.
  3. what would you do serious question

For argument sake say the deposit is $1000 Worse case he restocks for a fee let's say $100 (bs with my suppliers or they won't be my supplier) Your saying he should profit $900? For what, because that's your definition of a deposit? If he sits on his hands when the vehicle was suppose to be...
  4. what would you do serious question

Awesome post You can only judge character so much. If you feel he is being genuine then you got to do what you can do. Most likely shame will keep him from ever being your customer again but doing the right thing is so much more important than $. I would look at what ACTUAL COSTS you might be...
  5. What's your shop minimum?

I shoot for $25 But if someone dangles enough for me to supersize my value meal and its close to lunch I fold. I'm burried in a industrial park and when I pay $5 for a google click time waster I want to throw a brick at em.
  6. Old software

That was the first sign specific software I used, 94' To this day I keep a 10 year old copy of signlab on my accounting computer. I'm much faster creating shapes with the dot to dot editing system. I wish flexi offered that way of node editing. I only switched to flexi because it was bundled...
  7. some advice please----

Did you check if it had a banana in the tail pipe? At worst I would send it back and offer to take care of shipping if it is user error. That sounds like something both parties could agree on.

Lawyers Airlines Electronics Target, Walmart pharmaceuticals oh wait your example of "proffessional Industries" was Auto Body shop Screenprinters Lawncare Tree Services Windsheild Repair Carpet Cleaners And don't play Mr. Innocent after you start it with "Let me guess..... your business model...
  9. Price Beatdown

Shallow are we? you said "We are the only professional industry to cut each others throats." Do I really need a example? I thought that would be enough for you to correct yourself. What professional industry isn't out to cut each others throats? Do you think billionaire business owners are not...
  10. Price Beatdown

your talking about a company that is already working at full capacity. Take Friday for example: we always work a heck of a lot harder on Friday because we always have more work to do (everyone needs their stuff for the weekend) Another factor is streamlining your workflow/employees employee A...

Grimco just bought our loyal supplier too. I like N.glanz they have several locations They also carry main tape and oracal Funny thing is, Grimco told us it was to get into some of the items our old supplier carried. So far it's just the same ol Grimco and most of the old customers (that I...

  14. how to handle a stolen design

I had the same thing happen to me on a smart car wrap. Now we see my design rolling around town. We wasted 10+ hours (over half of that bs ing with the owner). Now we charge for design work before we start. Never had this issue before and I am always guilty of giving people the benefit of the...
  15. Never had to do this, so I don't no what to charge ?

3 hours? no way I'd prefer unlaminated. The scraper cuts trhough it like butter. Bring a broom and don't do it on a windy day. Scraping perf of glass is messy
  16. Never had to do this, so I don't no what to charge ?

It comes off fairly EZ with a wide razor scraper. They are like $15 @ lowes If it is laminated you might be able to pull off in one sheet with some heat. One guy could do it in 30 minutes with removing adhesive. Charge a hour+ to be safe.
  17. Making decals with multi colors of cut vinyl

I agree with both of your posts I have a printer and I still do most of these the way you described. unless each of the 50 is a totally different color. you can lay up 50 of these in no time and they will last longer. you can even array a bunch of them up and down and use registration marks for...
