  1. To print wraps on vertical or horizontal??

This is where a printer with heavy banding shines. Seams just blend right in.
  2. Grimco "Thanks for your hard work, your fired"

I can't disagree with you one bit. I will tell you I have always found another supply company more than willing to offer the same product for the same price
  3. Estimating Vinyl Cut Time

I print and cut vinyl. A nice cut vinyl job looks 10x better than printed vinyl IMO especially 3 years from now. Printed signs always have that "covered in packing tape feel" There is something rewarding about a challenging layered vinyl job. Especially lighted faces. I will do whatever I can...
  4. Layering vinyl in the shop?

Air is trapped because of the thickness of the second layer of vinyl. More or less the same reason you would trap air in vinyl on a banner if there is a seam on your table underneath the banner. IE where there is a void there will be bubbles.
  5. Estimating Vinyl Cut Time

No offense but you sound like someone that has never cut vinyl in your life, or maybe you are pulling one over on a new guy? To say it doesn't matter is a ridiculous statement. I would charge someone less for 10' of 24" letters than I would 2' of .5" letters labor/cutting time>vinyl cost I have...
  6. Grimco "Thanks for your hard work, your fired"

And they carry everything that I used to get from N&F (main tape, Oracal) at VERY FAIR prices. They just ran out 2 rolls of Oracal to me yesterday at the end of the day, because I was in a overnight pinch. So far love them And Good Luck To Alicia Its just rotten is what it is. Imagine...
  7. Grimco "Thanks for your hard work, your fired"

I write this for two reasons: 1. I know the power of Signs101 and if you are like me I know it matters. 2. I know Grimco watches this site and has filters that alert them when their name is used. Most of you know the recent buying spree they have been on. St. Louis (where they are based) has...
  8. Banding in gradients only

screen cap it and print the gradient as a test to see if it is the gradient that is messed up when you print solid colors are you printing straight CMYK? IE go in to the setting of the color and print a solid box of 100% and nothing else of CMYK this will at least narrow down a few things. I...
  9. Screw you 3M.

call it what you wish, its just bad business my best customer is a screen printing label maker. He gets most of his business from the web, I could easily do this and undersell him. But I wont and that is why he is loyal. It is the same reason I stay away from Avery since they put DIY sign kits...
  10. Production Table Top

there is nothing better than the self healing cutting mats. They are worth every penny. Once you use one you will never think of using anything else ever again. I have a weird "cutting on surface" ocd type problem, hard to explain but similar to walking on dry snow. Cutting on self healing...
  11. Boo... Grimco won't be carrying Oracal

    3:30 here
  12. Boo... Grimco won't be carrying Oracal

why not? That's what we are going to start doing. They just opened up a branch in St. Louis. But I am open to knowing if it is a bad move. As far as the reason I said in a previous thread I can only think that they would move in to the number one retailer for Oracal and that didn't set well for...

  14. Box Truck Graphic Wrap installation easy way

I had a customer very similar to this guy. I assume he probably actually thinks he is going to start up a wrap division. And who knows maybe he will get a job or two. I don't really look at it as competition and a customer like this is never going to pay a shop like any of us to get quality. I...
  15. Box Truck Graphic Wrap installation easy way

I have no idea what is going on in this thread. I give him credit though he sounds happy with what he ended up with and didnt have to pay 2-4 grand to get it. Personally it bothers me but he is the winner in the end.
  16. whats ya hobby

Wow some of you are cooler than I thought. I just got a little 2 man 150cc dune buggy for me and my 3 year old I bracket drag race (wheel standing camaro up above is sweet man) I obsessively landscape my backyard, did I mention obsessively? If I had to pick one I'd say skateboarding. That's me...
  17. Replacement iPhone ear buds with mic options?

Bluetooth goes great with any Tapout or Ed Hardy gear
  18. Grimco Purchases Proveer

Just got off of the phone with them. Oracal has decided to pull the plug on the deal. The answer I was told is that Grimco is too big for them to be able to carry. This is ridiculous I can only think it has to do with the man in the hat. I really just want one exclusive supplier to get...
  19. WOW just wow!!!

It seems cheap but not "WOW just WOW" cheap That is the equivalent to a $22.00 18"x24" coro Even the truck isn't obnoxiously high. I would be higher than both but I wouldn't be shocked either. Truck lettering = no substrate cost
  20. Do you give ballpark estimates?

Of course I will give a ball park estimate. Only if they ask. I could care less if they b1tch when the real quote is more. Those people would of b1tched in the first place anyway.
