  1. Media Profiles

This will depend heavily on your rip software. Most websites will give you their own profiles. But if you go on say, mimakis website you should be able to put in your printer, rip, then version and it’ll give you a list of available profiles. onyx has a profile and driver manager that works...
  2. Discussion Does Anyone Realize This.............. ??

I think mostly it’s people that are fully aware of these rules but choose to find ways around them (such as the PM) and/or just blatantly ignore the rules. There’s a good handful of repeat offenders that seem to keep getting away with it/have started getting more crafty about how they word...
  3. Any Colorado 1650 Owners.

It’s consistent at least. Pretty good tolerances. Can start printing on a roll about 1/5” in, so not a lot of wasted material. the only down side, is that if you have a roll in roll 2, you’re talking about losing at least 3’ at the end of a roll that it won’t print on, even more if you ever...
  4. Suggestions Best practices for removing low adhesive vinyl on painted walls?

Using a low-tac adhesive would probably be a great start
  5. Any Colorado 1650 Owners.

1650 should be better because it actually calibrates the media at each speed. Whereas the 1640 just does the slowest mode. aside from that, we’ve been able to fix any banding issues with the feed correction in onyx. We do have to use the advanced AAC for a few media’s. I don’t trust anything...
  6. Any Colorado 1650 Owners.

Very true, the cost of the some of the maintenance equipment on the Colorado is laughable. Even the nitril gloves are 7x dearer from canon than the exact same gloves from a different supplier. I’m not massively keen on canons business tactics with regards to the wide format printers either...
  7. Any Colorado 1650 Owners.

We have a colourwave also that we use for indoor stuff or specific jobs that require to be kept in order. We have a click charge on that so having the Colorado and being able to run low ink consumption jobs on that does make life easier. as far as the uni costs etc go, I seen this online. Not...
  8. Suggestions Decals, I want to know each and everything about it.

Located in Mexico and works in NY? Can we talk about that commute?
  9. Upgrading to Rasterlink 6

Rasterlink 5 looked a lot better than Rasterlink 6 I found too. Genuinely seems like they tried to over complicate it. as mentioned in the first post, I wouldn’t even mind paying for v6 but mimaki have dodged 3 inquiries this far and haven’t replied once. Won’t even reply when I’m trying to...
  10. Upgrading to Rasterlink 6

Depends how expensive pretty expensive is, we’re running onyx for another machine so would probably just get another licence for that and get everything running on the same software. Onyx > RL anyway lol
  11. Upgrading to Rasterlink 6

“this serial key is for another product, please enter be serial key for this product” has definitely been deactivated on the RL5. Thoughts?
  12. Upgrading to Rasterlink 6

Didn’t even think it’d be a free upgrade! Thought never crossed my mind. Assumed the free stuff days were long gone lol. will deactivate and try that code tomorrow. If that fails hopefully mimaki keep their enquiry turnaround time to under a month.. Thanks for your help
  13. Upgrading to Rasterlink 6

This seems like a dumb question but here goes.. basically, we still run a mimaki cjv30-130 and it works great. Our IT is pushing us over to win 10 so we’re having to switch from RL5 to RL6, I managed to download RL6 and get it going but it appears that it will stop working unless we can get a...
  14. Print & Cut Longer than 8' issues

haha I don’t tend to either, accidentally put a cut line around my filled text boxes frequently and it does cut them bang on though. Impresses me to no end but nobody else seems to share my enthusiasm
  15. Print & Cut Longer than 8' issues

+1 for buying a summa. Even when I forget bleeds this thing hits bang on
  16. Need Help Ricoh Pro L4160. Reasons to purchase.

What he said. We got our ROI on the 1640 in about three months
  17. Need help with icc profile epson wf7710

Quick check at your times and temp too. Our heat transfer vinyl is usually 150 degrees for 5-15 secs depending on material. Sublimation is considerably longer/hotter. Most of our sublimation products are usually at 190-200 degrees for 50-60 seconds. Probably just not pressing long enough?
  18. Need Help Ricoh Pro L4160. Reasons to purchase.

Always gotta look at the price that you’d be paying if you were busy and your current printer died. huge bill or cost of a new printer and angry customers to match! never keen on a penny punching boss, gotta spend money to make money!
  19. Need Help Stupid and Expensive mistake

Assuming the price was worth the risk compared to a branded model. Is there still hope you get it up and running cheaper than you’d have paid on a brand model with similar specs?
  20. Need Help Stupid and Expensive mistake

Probably best they didn’t ship the inks. Best finding sellers close by that can supply you ink rather than rely on these guys
